When we were on vacation a few weeks ago in Karo Regency, precisely on Mount Sinabung, we accidentally passed several villages that had been abandoned by their inhabitants to evacuate to a safe place. which is quite severe and some have even been destroyed, as well as houses of worship and schools that are near the area.
One of the dead villages that we passed and accidentally captured was the dead village of Berastepu, the location of this village is in Simpang Empat District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province. This village is located very close to the foot of Mount Sinabung and has been living for a long time since 2013. The people of Berastepu village who were affected by the eruption of Mount Sinabung who left their village fled and opened new agricultural land in the area around Karo Regency which is safer, such as in Siosar and Galoh House, Langkat Regency, which is the closest area directly adjacent to Karo Regency. This place was deliberately built by the local government to be a place of refuge for residents affected by the eruption of Mount Sinabung.
Berasetepu Village is now one of the impromptu tourist objects for visitors who will go to Berastagi through this village. In this village you can take photos and take documentation and you can see firsthand and remember the terrible events during the Sinabung eruption at that time, this incident reminds us that we humans cannot do anything if nature is angry.
When we were in this Berastepu area, various feelings were mixed into one, how in that year they must have been very afraid, and saddened by this natural disaster, which even until now Sinabung still often erupts in the form of cold lava and rocks.
I remember very well In 2013 I was still at the high school level, we were asked to help the victims of the Mount Sinabung Disaster, one of which was in Berasetepu Village, which suffered severe damage, and many casualties. School-age children who had to drop out of school, parents who lost their agricultural land, because their agricultural land could no longer be planted due to the hot and cold lava bursts of Sinabung, Families who lost their families who had not even been found until now, and the entire station. Television, both print and electronic media, always broadcasts news about the Sinabung eruption (Pray Sinabung).
When we were in Berasetepu village when we took the documentation, we still met some local residents whose houses they had left behind, when we asked them, they only answered they just came and saw, because the house has many memories and there is a funeral for their family there
If you stop by the village of Berasetepu, I hope that we will both insert a prayer so that Mount Sinabung will return to calm and not erupt again. So that the people there can again live a normal life without any fear if at any time the eruption of Mount Sinabung comes again.
So many of our posts today, hopefully we are always in good health, and can continue to vacation with family and loved ones. Aamiin, warm greetings from us, Tomi Maya, a married couple from Indonesia, Don't forget to vote and comment. thank you
