Gesing Wonderland When Sky and Sea Unite at the Edge of a Cliff
Hi worldmappers, welcome to my blog again πππ
So the story is that yesterday, my family and I were looking for new tourist attractions in Gunungkidul that were popular on social media. The name Gesing Wonderland came up. Seeing the cool photo, like a Santorini style building on a cliff, we immediately went there.
The location is right next to the old Gesing Beach, which is famous for its fish market. So, we took the same road, but when we were about to go down to the beach, there was a signpost pointing to Gesing Wonderland.
Honestly, when we arrived and paid for the entrance ticket (yesterday we paid Rp 25,000 per person, not including parking), I immediately thought, "Okay, this place is really meant for photos".
The view? No need to ask. Itβs AMAZING! We can see the vast blue southern sea, with absolutely no barriers. The sound of waves crashing against the rocks below was also clearly audible, plus it created a serene yet majestic atmosphere. The breeze was gentle, thus it felt cool. The weather was in fact hot, though.
The heart of Gesing Wonderland is here now. It feels as if walking through one artist designed coastal village is something I cannot describe with accuracy.
The buildings stand as truly unique. The walls are painted in white. After this point, more colorful touches are then added. The designs are curved as well as wavy with no straight or rigid lines, so they seem soft also pleasing to the eye.
Each space seems purposefully designed as picture scenery. The combination of colorful elements truly contrasts and blends with the colors of the sky and the sea behind it.
After getting tired of walking around and taking photos, the cafe is a wonderful place for cooling off after sun exposure. Looking at the open sea, we are able to enjoy a coconut drink as well as sit back. The trip to here is the healing part.
Besides the cafe, there's plenty of seating available in spots that are also set up in a direction toward the sea. It is suited to relaxed chats or daydreaming. One can just also enjoy the sea breeze.

The heat here is indeed very noticeable. Make sure to prepare either a hat or sunglasses. You should do that because you are up on a cliff near the sea. Sunlight is very intense when you arrive during the day. I do suggest that you come at about 3 or 4 in the afternoon.
Oh, and this is not a beach for swimming, itβs a sightseeing spot from atop the cliff. If you want to play in the sand or get wet, the place for that is at Gesing Beach down below.
π Conclusion π
Gesing Wonderland successfully offers a different experience. It is similar to a massive art gallery using nature's beauty as its highlight not merely a simple spot. π

Who is Nur Satrio ?
Hi, I'm Tio, a lover of stories, whether written on the pages of a book, presented in adventurous games, or engraved in the incredibly beautiful nature of Indonesia. In my free time, I like to immerse myself in fictional worlds, build small worlds by assembling Gundam models, and explore new places that offer fresh air and soothing views.
For me, life is not about how fast we run, but how much beauty we get to enjoy along the way. I believe that every book has a universe, every journey has a story, and every second we spend in nature is a quiet expression of gratitude that calms the heart.
