Mesra Beach The Charm of Bali in Gunungkidul !
Hi Worldmappers, welcome to my blog again.
A few days ago, I just visited a quite famous beach in Gunung Kidul. Curious? Yes, it's called Mesra Beach. Sounds a bit strange, right? But that's really its name! At first, I didn’t know why it was called Mesra Beach (Romantic Beach), so out of curiosity, I asked the locals there.
Just for your info… Mesra Beach (Romantic Beach) is named that way because of its romantic atmosphere and beauty that makes many visitors feel like they are in a warm and affectionate place. This beach was previously known as Ngrawe Beach, but due to its calming atmosphere and stunning views, tourists and locals began calling it Mesra Beach (Romantic Beach). This name then became more popular and is now firmly attached to the beach.
Back to the topic, I initially thought this was just an ordinary beach, but when I arrived there... I was momentarily speechless! Seriously, it resembles Bali! It's no joke, even the entrance is different. It’s not just an ordinary ticket booth, the entrance has a gate that instantly changes the vibe. Ordinary beaches don’t have a gate entrance. It feels like entering a resort in Bali. Hahaha.
As I entered, my eyes were immediately pampered by the super neat and beautiful garden. The grass is green and very well maintained, and around the garden there were stalls with a very contemporary concept that made it comfortable to snack while looking at the beautiful ocean view. The food prices were also quite standard, not too expensive for a place as beautiful as this. Every corner is really instagrammable.! Anyone who loves taking photos will definitely feel at home here (like me hahaha).
As we pass through the super green garden, we are welcomed by the white sand that contrasts beautifully with the garden. The combination of green and white is quite lovely, right?
What really impressed me is the facilities. Besides the beautiful garden, there are plenty of comfortable seating area. The restroom and prayer room are also clean and well maintained.
Just for info. You can't swim here. Because all the beaches in Gunung Kidul have very dangerous waves, you can only play in the water at the edge.
And this is what I've been waiting to share with you all. I found a photo spot that was unique and really cool for me. On the edge of the beach, there's a large rock with a hole in the middle... When you take a photo here, it really feels like you're looking into a different dimension. Are you curious? Here's the PHOTO. Hahaha.
These are pictures of me searching for sea snails. Cute, right? Hahaha.
Tips for those who want to go here:
• Come on weekdays so you can take photos more freely and enjoy the atmosphere without too many people.
• It’s very hot here, you must wear sunscreen.
• Don't forget to bring spare clothes. There's no way you're going to come here without playing in the water, right?
If you're looking for a beach in Gunungkidul that is different from the others, you must visit Mesra Beach! You won’t regret it, it feels like a holiday in Bali without having to go far to Bali.
Best Regards,

Hi, I'm Tio, a lover of stories, whether written on the pages of a book, presented in adventurous games, or engraved in the incredibly beautiful nature of Indonesia. In my free time, I like to immerse myself in fictional worlds, build small worlds by assembling Gundam models, and explore new places that offer fresh air and soothing views.
For me, life is not about how fast we run, but how much beauty we get to enjoy along the way. I believe that every book has a universe, every journey has a story, and every second we spend in nature is a quiet expression of gratitude that calms the heart.
