Has anyone heard of the kadaplak game? One of the villages in Lembang held the game. In fact, the game is also held once a year as a preservation of traditional Kaulan. Kadaplak is a special game tool that is only used for downhill roads, made of wooden planks approximately 80-100 cm long. At the front, the steering wheel and four wooden wheels are covered with rubber from pieces of motorized vehicles and sometimes also use car or motorcycle bearings.
Before the race, the participants took Kadaplak to reach higher places on the slopes of Bukit Tunggul. Once on the road to the top, they were both getting ready to race. Like, car racing in general, as soon as the flag begins to be raised, the participants slide down the downhill race to be in the front.
In order for the wheels to run, his feet were planted on the ground until the car was moving fast. Estimated maximum speed can reach 40 km / h. The participant who first touches the finish line is the winner. Participants in the race could not reduce their speed because there were no brakes, so many of the participants fell when they touched the finish line.
The game, which has been passed down from generation to generation by local residents since 1960, has often participated in Kadaplak racing, but in 1998 the race was stopped and residents only used Kadaplak cars as a hobby. Through this Kadaplak racing game, the villagers, who are mostly farmers and cattle breeders, can gather and interact together.
And can create a sense of brotherhood of togetherness that is built because by playing this indirectly forms a sense of mutual help and adds intimacy. Through competitions like this one can improve the relationship between residents because there is nothing up for grabs in this competition, even though there are prizes that are only modest. Losing or winning is normal.
One of the youths who participated in the event, Rizky, 20, admitted that he was happy to participate in this event. He has been preparing for a month and training 3 times a week. "Practice on an existing track," he said.
The motor that he uses can reach speeds of up to 120 km / h. The maximum can be 200 km / h by using a car bearing. According to him, if not young people, who else? "Kadaplak has now begun to be taken by Malaysia. We, as young successors in West Bandung, now want to be appointed again," he said. He explained, in the future at least once a year the kadaplak competition could be held.
