Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you're all well. I recently returned to Bandung and visited a place I've lived for quite some time: West Bandung. Back when I was a journalist, I used to visit this place often. But now that I live in Jakarta, I rarely visit. Whenever I have time, I do visit.
When I moved in, this place hadn't been built yet. It was just a red dirt field. So, I want to tell you about this place I visited. This is the West Bandung Regency square. However, it's still not widely used as the center of the regency capital.

I'll tell you about a place that combines contemporary style with a few monumental touches. This place was actually only built in 2003 and was just completed this year. In fact, this year, it's already been used for several activities, from Ramadan activities, mobile libraries, and other community activities.
However, the place is quite limited in use. It's not used every day like a city square. This area is an open space with a landscaped design, filled with small gardens and trees that blend the area. This arrangement creates a balance between the building and the green space.
This impression is quite attractive to many people. The circular floor and pattern in front of the monument create the impression of a center of activity. Some buildings use geometric roofs. This roof shape is reminiscent of traditional houses, but with modern materials such as metal and glass.
This, in several buildings around the monument, creates a solid and open impression. There is also a white tower placed as a symmetrical axis behind it, and its flat layout gives a sense of balance and saturation. This area is called the West Bandung Regency Square (Alun-Alun). Its impression and style are quite unique, combining modern elements with symbolic touches.
This building is quite beautiful, but it's a shame that it's not yet open to the public. It can only be used for monumental events. I hope this place can also be used as a center for community activities and more activities for our children.
