Will We Make it to the Top? Yes! But barely haha. Hey Everybody! This is part 2 continuing from the last one to show you guys the other half of the hike to Phu Kradeung, the most famous hike spot in Thailand.
I, #nomnomtraveler along with my 3 friends: M, N, and V decided to take on this trip and challenge ourselves to conquer this mountain top.
Around halfway, we realized that it was noon already! So we stopped for lunch. All Thai foods today. We had spicy papaya salad, omelet, and some garlic-fried pork that we ate with sticky rice.
After getting food in our belly, we were ready to continue on the road. Like I said before some parts are rockier than others, so we did need to climb too. Come on N! Keep up!
The latter half of the hike was not as steep but it’s harder to go through since it’s very rocky.
Also, we took longer time to go through when someone came in the opposite direction than us. Here we tried to take a photo because we were tired but people kept walking by us. Me and V were not annoyed (I promise). We were just trying to catch our breath there. M and N, on the other hand, were still doing great.
Now that people are gone, we were trying to be fierce and get some nice shots. lol
Finally, we made it to “the mountain top” and the same sign as the beginning of the trail is here. Yay we did it! We conquered Phu Kradeung!!
We had our sticks/canes that brought us up here. So we did the "Magical Stage" pose from our childhood anime "Magical DoReMi". Here's the shot and the reference.
We were so proud of ourselves. It’s definitely a challenge! Especially me since I've never really hiked before.
This is the most iconic landmark of the mountain top “the fallen pine tree”
Of course, I had to take pictures of it. To show off I climbed “the” Phu Kradeung.
Another famous landmark from this stop is “the red maple”. They’ll turn red at the end of the year and since we were earlier it’s not as red. But I can see it a little bit though.
From this viewpoint, we still had to walk to the camping site. Along the way were so many pine trees. And the vibe was so chilled and nice there. Even though it’s afternoon, it wasn’t hot at all.
And this cute little pine cone. Something we wouldn't really see in flat ground. By the way, I wouldn't feel so confident without any makeup at all (like this). But the atmosphere made the picture look so nice and I love them all.
I just love how the trees up here were different from anywhere else and it looked so good in the picture! I felt that it was worth climbing already.
Like this barren forest and these ridiculously tall trees too.
Kudos to my girls!
We almost made it to the camping site when it started to rain a little. Luckily we prepared with our raincoat and the umbrella as N, who basically was the organizer and the planner, told us to.
There’s the camping site! Can you see it?
Because I wanted to know how far and how many calories I burned today. I saved this photo and I was soooo surprised. I wish normal workouts could burn this much.
When we arrived, we went to check in with the office. They provided information. Here is a picture of how we picked the plan of staying there 4 days and 3 nights.
This time, we decided to share a house with other people, to which N had spoken. The house was supposed to be for 5 people and since we had only 4. It made more sense to find another person to share the house with.
Anyway, we got in the house, settling in a little and we decided to walk to “Mark dood cliff” to watch the sunset. The path was so beautiful and the weather was a little cold. Perfect to have an evening stroll.
I'll have to show you in the next one what our first sunset looked like, which I can tell you is pretty amazing. Not to brag about it lol. So, I hope you guys stay tuned and...
Stay fit and keep hiking guys!
