π In the ancient city of Mira in Turkey is a popular historical monument - the Church of St. Nicholas (St. Nicholas Kilisesi). Many tourists come here to see this historic building.
The Turks believe that St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is buried here. This place is a pilgrimage for many believers. As for me, it is a well-commercialized historical monument, as well as forcing you to buy various icons, which are not cheap here, it's all just pumping money out of a tourist.
But if you discard all this marketing around St. Nicholas Church, and just walk there on your own and go inside, you might even like it.
The church is essentially a ruin. And this is exactly what we will see in my photos.
At first we are here on such a street. It is clean and beautiful.
Afterwards we pass on the territory of the Church of St. Nicholas, the entrance to which is through a turnstile for tickets.
This is what the church looks like, it is hidden below
Now we go downstairs to enter the church.
The church building itself is not closed. You could say you will still be on the street, because there are no doors that close or windows.
There are pictures of icons on the walls, despite the fact that the walls themselves have long been falling apart.
Although these are ruins, they are beautiful.
And here I am, walking around the historical monument and taking pictures.
The day I got to this place was very hot. It was not very comfortable to be photographed, so there are almost no photos of me on the street. But I'm glad I managed to take a lot of pictures inside.

Thanks for watching, good luck π
