Namaste 🙏
Hope you all are doing great!!!
This was my second second day in Kathmandu and I had real fun, exploring the night life of Kathmandu last night. I came back to my hotel quite late and had just four hours of sleep. We had to wake up really early because we had to get to the most important temple in Kathmandu. That is Pashupati Nath Temple.
I came back to my hotel around 2:30 in the morning and had to wake up at about 6:30 to get ready for breakfast. I was kind of tired, but I was super excited to go to the Pashupati Nath temple, so I woke up just in time. Took a cold shower and got to the restaurant to have breakfast. We had to leave from our hotel by 730, and I was just in time with my grandparents sitting in the bus that came there to pick us up to go to the Pashupati Temple.
It was a mini Bus kind of thing, not a big bus as our guides had decided that we would also be going and exploring some other places around the day and will be exploring Kathmandu for the whole day, so they these small buses as they are easy to get through the traffic and also through the narrow streets of Kathmandu.
The Pashupati Nath Temple was not that far away from our hotel room, and it hardly took us around 15 minutes in the mini bus to get there. I was still sleepy as I didn’t sleep well. Last night. You can see that in the photograph that I am posting below in the photograph. You can see my face in spite of taking a cold shower.
I tried to capture some photographs from the Bus too. This small temple caught my eye and I captured some photographs of this small temple. Nepali architecture was really unique and special for me. I was seeing such kind of architecture for the first time in my life, and I was so amazed to see that.
So after 15 to 20 minutes of Drive in the mini bus, we were there in front of the main gate of Pashupati Nath Temple. As already mentioned that this is the most important temple in Kathmandu, so there was quite a bit of security there.
As we were travelling in a minibus, so we had to get off of the bus right where the main road of Pashupati Nath was starting, we had to work for 200 m extra because the buses were not allowed inside of the temple campus.
We got off the buses and I was assisting my grandparents to get to the temple with me. This was one of the main reasons why my grandparents wanted to come to Nepal, so it was really special for them to go there. As it was 200 m away from the place where we got off the bus, so I assisted my grandparents and helped them to get to the temple as soon as possible.
As this was one of the most prominent locations of Kathmandu, so the problem was that this temple often time can get over populated and so it was crucial for us to get ahead of everyone else as they were about 150 people in our group only so getting ahead of those 150 people would also put us in lead and would increase our chances toget free as quickly as possible.
All the people that are wearing white coloured hats and caps are from our group. You can see that in the photographs below that everyone was in a little bit of hurry to get to the temple as soon as possible.
So have we were finally after working for about 200 m, we were right in front of the main gate of the campus. This gate was partially closed and was opened only from side so that people can get inside and get out of this place one by one.
There were a lot of people inside of the temple campus. As you can see the photograph below. We were told by our guides that there are huge lines and long waiting time for the Darshan that people had to do so, they insisted us to stay vigilant.
As soon as I entered the temple campus, there was a kind of peace that came out of me from within. I from my heart. Felt like I belong to this place, and I was really happy from inside.
In the starting area of the temple itself, people were doing all kinds of rituals as it is considered very sacred place to do all kind of rituals. It is believed that once a person gets to this holy temple, he doesn’t have to be born in as animal in his next life.
I will be telling you guys about the detailed story in the next part as this part is only focused on the journey of reaching to the temple. The main story of the temple and my experience of getting inside of the temple. I’m gonna mention in next blog.
They were multiple worship is going on at once at the temple campus, and the atmosphere was so pure and peaceful there that cannot be expressed in words. I didn’t even get inside of the temple as of now, but I could still send the peace as soon as I Got inside of the temple campus.
I’m gonna tell you guys about the details story of this temple and my experience of visiting this Holy Temple in the next plug, I think that is it for today.
Thanks for passing by.
Peace ☮️
