Malatan-og Falls
After a hours of traveling around, we captured the beauty of this falls, where you can see at the top of highway. We stopped and take a photo of it. The view of this falls makes me wonder what kind of falls it is, what beauty have the falls it is and what hidden beauty does it have? Does questions makes my mind to think and makes me more curious about this falls. It also took 40 minutes going downhill to the falls, despite that the path had already been cleared and in certain step. As we arrived downhill I witnessed the fantastic beauty of Falls with the forest surrounds it.
Malatan-og
The name "Malatan-og" is derived from the local dialect, which means "beautiful" and did you know what, it is also called "Cigarette Falls" according to transitpinas. As what you can see at the photo, the water looks like a smoke of a cigarette that's why it is also called Cigarette Falls.
Malatan-og Falls is deeply intertwined with the cultural and natural heritage of the region. While there may not be specific recorded historical events related to the waterfall itself, it has been a significant landmark for the local community for generations. It has served as a source of livelihood, a place for recreation, and a site for cultural gatherings and celebrations.
Over the years, Malatan-og Falls has gained popularity among tourists and adventurers seeking to explore its beauty and experience its refreshing waters. That's why I/we are here. Its cascading streams, surrounded by verdant forests and rock formations, create a mesmerizing sight that draws visitors from near and far. Efforts have been made to preserve and protect Malatan-og Falls and its surrounding ecosystem, recognizing its ecological importance and its value as a natural heritage site. This includes initiatives to promote responsible tourism and conservation practices to ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy its splendor.
Malatan-og Falls stands as not only a natural wonder but also a symbol of the rich cultural and environmental heritage of Negros, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its beauty and tranquility.
As we going home arrived around 6pm, i just realized that those questions what in my mind have already answered. So, to answer those questions in my mind, I agree with the quote of Adam Marland, “When you say “Waterfall”, I hear “Wonderful”.”
This Waterfall really say that the world is full of Wonderful beauty that our creator created.
