Hello, friends. Today I would like to talk to you about the Duomo of Parma, the most important church in this beautiful city in Emilia Romagna.

I must confess that this is not the first church or cathedral I have visited in Italy, I have been to both Florence and Milan, but let's just say that I was very surprised by this church because it is beautiful both inside and out.
It is, of course, located in Piazza Duomo and in addition to the cathedral there is a beautiful baptistery, which unfortunately was closed on the day I was due to visit, so I couldn't visit it.

The interior of the cathedral is truly spectacular because it is all decorated with beautiful frescoes. Among other things, the entrance to the cathedral is completely free, but to illuminate the nave and see the frescoes you have to insert €2 in a special device to turn on the lights.
It's not a bad initiative, but I found it a bit expensive and you have to have these €2 coins.

From my point of view, this church is a must-see for anyone visiting Parma, and let's say that what is most striking are these frescoes depicting episodes from the Gospel, which were painted after the church was built by local painters.

However, at the end of the day, as I have read, you only have to pay for the entrance to the baptistery and it is also quite expensive because I have read that you have to pay around €10. Sometimes, as happened to me, it happens that the baptistery is closed, maybe because of work, while as I was saying, the entrance to the cathedral is free and it is based only on the offerings to turn on the lights, in fact, in several parts of the cathedral there are these devices where you insert a coin and for a few minutes the light turns on to illuminate the frescoes.

I was speechless when I saw the frescoes in this beautiful dome, which was truly impressive, I can say.
I hope you have enjoyed these photos and as usual I hope I have discovered a part of Italy that is perhaps less well known to foreign tourists and in any case I hope my experience has also been useful.
