A dream and a dreamy place I thought about would only exist in a dream until I visited the higher Himalayas, taking the advantage of the summer season, but also the risk and danger of the monsoon was a difficult task for me, but still I tried managing so was the luck I would say that I got a chance to explore the other side, the hidden side of the Himalayas and capture the beauty of it that I would have not been on as the place only accessible during this part of the year.
This part of the season, as it is usually covered with a thick blanket of snow, and even the waterfalls like this are frozen and they feel like that they do not even exist, say their existence only for a moment in the year. Rightly said so was this beautiful day. I would say that I’m gonna share my adventure with you guys through this post.
Here we were somewhere around 500 km away from Delhi when I took an overnight bus to Manali, which is in fact, my hometown, but as I have even expressed myself, a mountain boy who always thinks about mountain and has a deep passion for hiking and mountains could not resist and always think about whenever I get time, I visit the Himalayas or the mountains where my heart is.
From Manali, I took a straight traveller ( A local Diesel Force Van) that brought me to this place.
I had visited the places nearby, but visiting this particular place was the first time when I was visiting, even though I have been to the top of the Rohtang Pass, but especially this particular portion, seeing this was my first time, especially the waterfall that I was indeed plan to go Which was called Rahala Waterfall even though I have visited the place the whole region not exactly I have explode, but even I was not able to see and not able to experience the beauty of this waterfall. As previously mentioned there even were only few moments when the hidden waterfalls come to life.
So was the day when I finally got this grateful opportunity to visit and experience such moments. I remember it was around 12:37 PM in the afternoon when I visited and when I reached at this place as the screenshot that I took the waterfall was somewhere between the valley.
At the moment, I thought about the waterfall that I saw right in front of me in the mountain. I thought it was my destination, but I got to know about this and I was wrong. It was some other waterfall that people told was visible this time of the year maybe newly formed or Something Just Like This as founded by melting of glacier ice that caused this long, huge multiple waterfalls all over the mountains.
It was the unpredictable monsoon season over here at any time. There even might rain and even might snow at such a high altitude place. Currently I was at an altitude of more than 4000 m above the sea level and it took me near about 3 to 4 hours visiting this place from Manali Bus stand. It was truly beautiful moment.
My friends was lucky enough that the weather was also by usually there had been unpredictable rain from the past few days. As I visited the place. The weather was quite okay. There were these clouds formed up in the sky at certain points. It even felt like that I was in the middle of the sky as the road it was at an altitude, such so High.
There were these cars parked away from the spot away from the waterfall. Maybe they thought about that parking away from the waterfall was a good idea as usually even the water may increase in the waterfall as nobody knows as the water in the waterfall used to come from the melting of glacier nearby, and there could even be avalanches nobody knows my friends as the weather here in the higher Himalayas was truly predictive. I was so amazed to see that even the roads were built at such high altitude place. Maybe it was for the commutation of different valleys and even it was the main Leh Manali Highway.
The Rahla Waterfall
My friends, I finally reached at my destination. I was so excited, so nice to see as these were the places that I had only thought about wondering around the Google Earth app and seeing about such hidden places, I was always fascinated about visiting them and exploring them and capturing the beauty of such hidden places and finally a dream come true was a moment for me.
It was really a happy moment. I saw each and every single person who visited the place. They were fully excited so happy all in all in itself, it was just a magical moment for each and every single person visiting the place. Everyone felt so excited that was the thing when I noticed when I was at this place, there was the shop. I would say the temporary shop, and there were snacks all around And they were selling even the tea and some local cuisines at the place at thought.
I thought about to eat something as I was feeling a bit hungry, but I had carried my own food as I was not sure about that. Even such shops would exist at such an isolated place, so the thing that I do is, I always carry some food items along with me just to be on the safer side, so instead of purchasing something, I had a plan about bringing the food as I was not sure about.
It was the peak tourist season at the place and this was the maximum number of people who visited just imagine guys in the winter season. It is not even possible to see a person even at this place and this was the peak tourist season. It was really very beautiful corner away from hustle and bustle. It really felt like that it was a hidden place.
It even felt like to me that such places only exist in dream, but it was a dream come true moment as previously mentioned, I could see that water was coming from quite far away as even there was another waterfall formed just below the waterfall where we were that I saw later when I was returning back from the point, it was truly a worth awhile. The long drive to the place was truly something that was truly worth it all.
I decided to go a bit closer to the waterfall and check out that how freezing was the water that was just as fresh as it seems like directly coming from the melting of glacier nearby in the winter season, I don’t think the world water fall and even its moments, even its footprints would exist at the place as the whole place is frozen.
The moment I visited closer to the waterfall and touch the water with my hands, my friends, I can’t express that how cold it was. It was freezing cold. The moment I touched the water. It felt like that my whole arm was frozen. It was really very cold, really, very that, even the words can’t express. It was really very fresh to. Maybe even the weather was cold at the place. It was the summer season, but still I could experience the weather was about 2 to 3°C.
So I wondered around the place for quite a while captured these photographs and sat here and enjoyed the moment to its fullest nearby the waterfall. It was really a moment that I’m gonna remember for the rest of my life.
Whenever I think about waterfalls, I’m gonna remember it. It was truly a moment, and I wanted to share it with you guys through this post, so that even you guys could experience such hidden beauty hidden moments from the Himalayas as fresh as the water was on the melting of glacier water forming up such magical waterfalls.
