This trip was impromptu trip. Although we were planning to Char dham for so long but char dham yatra has specific time when you can visit so this year we had no hope and no plan.
But God has different plan as they say.
So
My husband’s job is really hectic and he can not get off even for a day that easily. So this Diwali he granted only 2 day’s leave so including Sunday Saturday we had total 4 days.
Every year we go my husband’s home to celebrate Diwali…since marriage this is the only festival I have celebrated at his home continuously. But now distance has increased, leave get shorter so it was seems impossible to go home and chill a little bit.
If we Decide to go home, out of 4 days 3 days we would be travelling in train( thanks to our superfast trains)
So this time despite to go his home we decided why not celebrate Diwali here in Deharadun.
After so much struggle about the destination we decided to Go Badrinath.
Badrinath is the place of Vishnu, husband of mahalaxmi (goddess of wealth as per Hindu mythology)
And on Diwali we do worship of mahalaxmi.
So what’s better than go where Mahalaxmi enthroned herself.
We left for Badrinath from haridwar at 6 am and after changing two transportation we finally reached Badrinath at 7pm. In midway we stopped for 15min to have some Petpooja. Journey was smooth didn’t face any hurdles.
Now let’s know little bit about Badrinath-Situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Badrinath is perched on the Garhwal hill tracks near the Alaknanda River. Known for its Badrinath Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
It is one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites, and is considered one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus.
As First time I was seeing snow loaded mountains this close….I was on cloud nine. I was just mesmerised by the nature’s art. There are no greatest artist other than god.
Finally
We started looking out for hotel….after seeing few hotel we finalised one with the geaser. Although we always budget travellers but if you are someone who always go for luxury forget that in Badrinath..You can just get the accommodation where they have basic amenities that’s it and it is applicable for foods too.
Food was expensive though.
It was 8pm when we settled down and decided to have darshan first and than eat something.
It was 10 min walk from my hotel to Mandir.
Temperature was -5 degree..we wore 5 layers of clothes still we were freezing. We reached near temple…we took off our shoes, washed our hands and we went inside the temple.
Lots of people was there… and we observed people from all over India also from Russia and Germany came to Badrinath to celebrate Diwali.
We went inside the main temple we had our darshan…as there were lots of people so I just had a glimpse of God vishnu and I was move forward by temple people as they were managing the crowd so can’t complain.
But we were more than happy… because the whole vibe of temple was so divine and blissful and that you could feel within your self those emotions. As they say God is Everywhere and that day it felt like that.
(Taptkund)
There was an hot spring near temple where the water is always hot boiling.
No matter how much the temperature is the water is always hot and boiling. It known as Taptkund. It believed that if you take bath in this kund your all skin problems will be solved.
We went there..we washed our hands and face there.
After that we had our dinners and we were really exhausted so we went to our hotel to sleep.
That’s the our journey from Haridwar to Badrinath and how we spent our first day in Badrinath.
