Hello to all my dear friends I hope everyone is well, your days are going well and will be better in near future.I am good with your unconditional support.
Friends, on the second Monday of Sawan, I decided to go to Jageshwar Dham with some special friends from my village. Some of my friends had come to their homes from other cities, and they planned this trip. We were a total of 4 people and left on 2 bikes. Jageshwar is located at an altitude of 1870 meters. Jageshwar is the eighth Jyotirlinga out of the twelve Jyotirlingas and its religious significance is very high. Jageshwar Shiva Temple is one of the oldest Shiva temples in India. It is an ancient temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is also called 'Fifth Dham of Uttarakhand' due to its location in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand.
Jageshwar temple is about 50 kms from our village, it took us about 2 hours to reach there. The weather on the way was very pleasant – sometimes mild sunshine, sometimes light rain made the journey even more memorable.
Experience of reaching the temple:
Friends, the temple is about 3 km inside the main road. As soon as we turned inside from the main road, seeing the crowd of cars, we got an idea of how much the number of devotees would be today. Earlier when I had come on the first Monday of Sawan, the crowd was less, and we had also left early in the morning. But this time there was a different excitement of going with friends.
Bhajans and Kirtans are performed by the local people here in the evening where a huge crowd gathers.
Friends, there were swings and small shops here and the temple committee had organized a community kitchen here, so everyone was going there to eat food. It was on the opposite side of Field Road.
Friends, today there was a huge crowd. People were buying things from the shops. Various kinds of things were available in the shops.
Friends, as soon as we reached the temple, the first thing we did was to take off our shoes and slippers – which itself was an indication of how huge the crowd was. Then we took the prasad and stood in a long queue. The queue was very long, after waiting for about an hour we got the privilege of darshan.
After visiting the temple, we roamed around the temple premises for a long time. During this time I also met some old friends, with whom I spent a good time. We met after a long time today, so it felt very good to meet my old friends. After that we visited all the temples and I also took many pictures.
It is a complex of 125 temples and 174 statues, surrounded by pine forests.
Friends, there is a river just below the temple complex which is known as Jata Ganga.
This is a lotus pond. Lotus flowers were blooming here. People offer flowers and rice in this pond. People put coins in the lotus flower leaves and coins of many people were stuck there.
havan aur shraddha:
Many devotees were doing hawan there. People come here from far and wide just to have darshan of God and after darshan they do hawan and puja. Many people do hawan together - seeing this my heart was filled with devotion.
The visit to Jageshwar Dham gave peace and energy to the mind. Next time we will go on a new journey again - with friends, in the name of God. Har Har Mahadev! 🙏
