Friends, my friend and I went to this historical place by bike, and the destination was as beautiful as the journey. Friends, we left Almora at 10 am and it took us only half an hour to reach the temple. As soon as we reached the temple, first of all we washed our hands and face and then we took prasad for the temple.
There was very little crowd at the temple that day, so we did not take much time to visit the temple.

Friends, Katarmal Sun Temple is situated in the mountains about 15 km from Almora - India's second largest Sun Temple, which is a priceless heritage of the 9th century.

Friends, I got information about this temple from the people who live in the temple, which is as follows: Katarmal Sun Temple is situated in a small village Adheli Sunar in Almora district of Uttarakhand. This temple is one of the ancient Sun temples of India and it is said that it was built in the ninth century by Katarmal, the ruler of the Katyuri dynasty. Situated at an altitude of about 2116 meters (6,942 ft)above sea level, this temple is not only the tallest and most magnificent temple in the Kumaon region, but is also a priceless example of the amazing architecture and craftsmanship of North India.
The special thing about the temple is that it is considered to be the second largest Sun Temple in India—the first place goes to the world famous Konark Sun Temple of Odisha. The structure of the Katarmal temple, its location and the peaceful atmosphere around it give a different spiritual experience. It seems as if history is still breathing in the stones there.
Friends, there are about 45 small and big temples here.
