It's regli here and I hope you are doing well. Today while returning home after a work trip, I had the opportunity to see from the avenue the runway of one of the most dreamed places of every citizen of my country, the José Martí Airport, located in the municipality of Boyeros, Havana. As I watched the planes take off and land through the window of the vehicle that transported me, I could remember one of the most exciting adventures I had during this year. And what do you think? I will share it with you!
A principio de año tuve la oportunidad de salir de mi país con fines comerciales, y a pesar de que mi salida fue por un período de 25 días, fue una linda experiencia que llevaré siempre conmigo. El país de finalidad era Guyana, pero el boleto que había comprado estaba diseñado para hacer escala en el lugar que será el centro de mi post: El aeropuerto internacional de Tocumen. Nuestro avión salía sobre las 7:00 am, así que con una hora de antelación estábamos arribando al pájaro de hierro😅. Era un avión mediano y de poco más de 200 pasajeros. A mí me correspondía el asiento de la ventanilla, cosa que quería para así poder disfrutar un poquito más del viaje. Pero les traigo un dato....nunca había montado un avión, así que pueden imaginarse todas las sensaciones vividas en solo minutos.Enseguida entramos, todo el equipo a bordo nos saludaron y se esforzaron por hacernos sentir muy cómodos por ello tengo gran agradecimiento y les recomiendo grandemente viajar con Copa Airlines 😁.
At the beginning of the year I had the opportunity to leave my country for commercial purposes, and although the time of departure was for a period of 25 days, it was a nice experience that I will always carry with me. The country of purpose was Guyana, but the ticket I had purchased was designed to make a stopover in the place that will be the focus of my post: Tocumen International Airport. Our plane was leaving around 7:00 am, so almost an hour before we were arriving at the iron bird😅. It was a medium-sized plane with just over 200 passengers. I had the window seat, which I wanted so I could enjoy the trip a little more. But here's a fact: .... I had never been on a plane before, so you can imagine all the sensations I experienced in just a few minutes.As soon as we got in, the whole team on board greeted us and made an effort to make us feel very comfortable for which I am very grateful and highly recommend traveling with Copa Airlines 😁.
El tiempo programado para estar en Panamá era de 9 horas así que pudimos caminar y disfrutar de aquella cápsula hermosa de capitalismo puro.Vimos tiendas con todo tipo de producto (ropa,calzado, comida rápida, servicentros etc...) Sus terminales llenas de personas solo esperando arribar a su vuelo correspondiente, largos pasillos super limpios divididos por escaleras eléctricas (que les tenía miedo😅). Por todo lugar se podía oler la fragancia fuerte del espresso y las golosinas que nos hacían agua la boca. Lo que más disfruté fue poder ver tantas personas de diferentes nacionalidades, razas, idiomas y estatus social juntas. Me entretenía mirando algo, volteaba y podía ver a coreanos, familias inglesas (por lo menos eso creí por su aspecto) haitianos, africanos e incluso personas con sus mascotas corriendo porque se les iba su vuelo. ¡Tanta cultura junta! ¡ Tanta belleza humana junta! Cosa que pocas veces puedo disfrutar en mi país lamentablemente.
The scheduled time to be in Panama was 9 hours so we were able to walk around and enjoy that beautiful capsule of pure capitalism.
We saw stores of all kinds (clothes, shoes, fast food, service centers etc...), terminals full of people just waiting for their flight, long super clean corridors divided by escalators (I was afraid of them😅), everywhere you could smell the strong fragrance of the espresso and the candies that made our mouths water. What I enjoyed the most was being able to see so many people of different nationalities, races, languages and social status together. I would stare at something, turn around and see Koreans, English families (at least I thought so by the looks of them), Haitians, Africans and even people with their pets running because they were missing their flight. So much culture together, so much human beauty together! Something I can rarely enjoy in my country unfortunately.
En esas 9 horas mis ojos de joven cubana fueron abiertos y aprendí dos grandes lecciones: #1. Hay mucho más allá de lo que nuestros ojos ven o imaginan esperándonos. No importa cuáles sean nuestras circunstancias presentes,cuando menos lo imaginemos las cosas pueden tornarse para bien. Así que no te rindas, buenas cosas suceden a quienes saben esperar con paciencia. Y #2. Ante Dios, todos somos iguales, desde arriba se nos mira con el mismo amor; al rico, al pobre, al blanco y al negro, al estudiado o aquel que no tuvo la oportunidad de crecer intelectualmente, etc.. Pero solo una cosa hace la diferencia, quien dirija nuestra vida y las decisiones que tomemos. ¡Espero que hoy estés tomando las correctas!
In those 9 hours my young Cuban eyes were opened and I learned two great lessons: #1. There is so much more beyond what our eyes see or imagine waiting for us. No matter what our present circumstances are, at any moment, when we least imagine it, things can turn for the better. So don't give up, good things will turn for the better. So don't give up, good things happen to those who know how to wait patiently. #2. Before God, we are all equal, from above He looks at us with the same love; the rich, the poor, the black and the white, the educated or the one who did not have the opportunity to grow up, etc. But only one thing makes the difference, who directs our life and the decisions we make.
