Hello there!
Having completed my Japan travel posts, I was going through some of my travel photos and was wondering which country would be interesting to share in my next post. And after shortlisting a few countries, I settled on Maldives, which to me is a Paradise On Earth!
This trip was a meaningful one for me because this was my first trip after I started working. Because Maldives' flights and resorts were generally on the expensive side, it took a while for me to save up for a 4 day 3 night trip to Maldives. This was many years ago, and I remembered it costed around SGD 2,500 (around USD 1,865).
Because of the length of this trip, and the activities that my friend and I did, I will split the posts into several parts so that it's not too lengthy (and it's also more manageable on my end).
So let's go!
My friend and I booked an all inclusive package which included everything from flights, accommodation and food, so this was our flight to Male, Maldives. Interestingly, it seems like Maldives was a popular destinations for couples or for honeymoons, I think my friend and I were probably the only pair on the flight that were going there as friends.

And we arrived at Male, Maldives after a short 4 hour flight.

For those who might not know, Maldives has many islands and each resort is on its own island. So for our resort, they had someone on standby at the airport to pick us up and the common mode of transport from Male to the island would be the speedboat. The speedboat was moving so fast and the waters were choppy so as a result, the next two photos were blurry. Haha.

Here's our room. Because of our limited budget (it was my first trip after I started working), we couldn't really splurge on the waterfront bungalows so it was just a basic accommodation (and it's already so expensive haha!). As my friend and I discussed, we would probably be spending most of our time outside at the beach anyway, so a simple accommodation was fine.

After checking in and dropping our bags, we went to have a walk around the island. This was the view that greeted us everyday when we stepped out. Just a few steps away and that's the beach!

There were many huts and deck chairs scattered around the island for visitors to just laze around. After all, most people are here to chill.

And that's the jetty where we came from via the speedboat.

So that's pretty much for our first day over at Maldives. It was just a relaxing day and the hospitality was awesome over at the resort. Look forward to the next posts where we ventured further and snapped some breathtaking photos!
Have you been to Maldives? Let me know in the comments if you have been here too, and what are your thoughts about this place?
