Hello friends, here I am once again sharing a trip I took to the beautiful island of São Miguel in the Azores, where my son went to a football tournament and I took the opportunity to go for a walk and get to know this wonderful island better. Last week, more precisely on Friday, June 13, 2025, we went to Lisbon airport and caught the SATA airline flight to the island of São Miguel and I took a trip to the Azores. Upon arriving at Ponta Delgada airport, I immediately went for a walk around Ponta Delgada and got to know this place a little better. What a beautiful city, it really is beautiful, believe me. I walked around the marina, where all the boats are docked, and I spent a long time there just enjoying the view and the calm atmosphere, it seemed like I was in complete peace. The marina has a special charm, with that smell of the sea and the sound of the masts beating in the wind, where calm reigns and where we can relax a little.

Later on the island, one day I passed by the islet of Vila Franca do Campo, since the bus driver was from there and he showed us around this magnificent place. I regretted not having time and I didn't get to go there by boat, I only saw it from a distance, but it was still worth it. It's really different and beautiful, it looks like something out of a postcard. I spent several minutes admiring that natural beauty and, above all, I wanted to go back and visit the islet up close, but maybe then I'll go back with my whole family and we can do a family outing.

Later I went to Ribeira Quente beach. As the name says it all, the water is very warm and very clean, and the sand is dark, which is different from what we're used to. It was great for taking a dip and relaxing, and we and the kids loved it. But for me I want to emphasize that the best moment of the day was when we sat down at a nearby restaurant to try some delicious limpets. They arrived still boiling, with that butter and lemon sauce dripping on top and I must say it was delicious with a truly delicious taste of the sea! I had never eaten such good limpets and of course accompanied by a cold beer, they tasted divine.

I loved this trip. It was only a few days, but it was enough to recharge my batteries. São Miguel has beautiful landscapes and good food. I'm already thinking about the next time, and going back with the whole family and I want to say that this is one of the best places to travel and visit.

Olá amigos aqui volto a partilhar uma viagem que fiz mais uma vez a linda ilha de São Miguel nos Açores, onde o meu filho foi ter um torneio de futebol e ai aproveitei para passear também um pouco e conhecer sempre mais desta maravilhosa ilha.Na semana passada mais precisamente na sexta feira dia 13 de Junho de 2025 fomos até ao aeroporto de Lisboa e apanhamos o avião da companhia aérea SATA para a ilha de São Miguel e fiz uma viagem aos Açores. Ao chegar ao aeroporto de Ponta Delgada fui logo dar uma volta por Ponta Delgada e conhecer um pouco mais desse local. Que cidade bonita, é mesmo muito bonita podem acreditar. Passeei pela marina, onde estão os barcos todos atracados, e fiquei ali um bom bocado só a aproveitar a vista e o ambiente calmo, parecia que estava em paz completa. A marina tem um charme especial, com aquele cheirinho a mar e o som dos mastros a bater com o vento, onde a calma impera e onde podemos relaxar um pouco.

Depois ainda na ilha, num dos dias passei perto do ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo, já que o motorista do autocarro era desse local e foi nos dar a conhecer essa magnifico local. Tive pena mas não tive tempo e não cheguei a ir de barco até lá, só o vi de longe, mas mesmo assim valeu a pena aquilo é mesmo diferente e bonito, parece tirado de um postal fiquei largos minutos a apreciar aquela beleza natural e acima de tudo fiquei com vontade de voltar e aí sim, visitar o ilhéu de perto, mas talvez ai volte com a minha família toda e fazermos um programa familiar.

Mais tarde fui até à praia da Ribeira Quente. O nome já diz tudo a água bem quentinha e muito limpa, a areia é escura o que é diferente do que conhecemos. Estava ótimo para dar um mergulho e relaxar, nós e as crianças adoramos este momento.Mas para mim quero realçar que o melhor momento do dia foi mesmo quando nos sentámos num restaurante ali perto para provar umas boas lapas. Vieram ainda a ferver, com aquele molho de manteiga e limão a escorrer por cima e digo estava delicioso com sabor a mar realmente uma delícia! Nunca tinha comido lapas tão boas e claro acompanhadas com uma cervejinha gelada, souberam divinalmente.

Adorei esta viagem. Foram só uns dias, mas deu para recarregar baterias. São Miguel tem paisagens lindas e boa comida. Já estou a pensar na próxima vez, e voltar com a família toda e quero dizer que este é um dos melhores sítios para viajar e conhecer.
