Hello Hivers!
Life really do be full of surprises sometimes. My recent trip to Sipalay wasn’t something I planned in detail, but wow everything just fell into place. What started as a super tiring 3-day journey turned into one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had in a while...
This isn’t just a travel story it’s about family, dreams, and those small wins that hit different. 💯
The Long Ride 😩🚌
From Surigao to Cebu, then Cebu to Bohol, and finally Bohol to Sipalay it felt like forever. Island hopping but make it exhausting 😂 It took 3 whole days. Not even joking. It was one of those “am I there yet???” kind of moments every step of the way.
Tbh, I was sooo close to just going back halfway. The buses were packed, transfers were confusing, and I was dead tired. But I kept telling myself, “You’re doing this for a reason.” My sister and her husband are about to open their dream gym in Sipalay, and I really wanted to be there for them... Like fr, how often do you get to witness something like that?
When I finally arrived, it felt like a mini achievement unlocked. All the stress faded when I saw my sister’s smile. At that point I was like, “Yep. Worth it.”
First Time in Sipalay = 🤯
Okay now let’s talk about Sipalay itself… bruh, I wasn’t ready. I’d seen some pics online before but seeing it irl? Next level. The beaches? Insane. The water? Crystal-clear. The vibe? Just Chill
It’s the kind of place where time feels slower. You breathe easier, your mind chills out, and for once, you’re just really there. No stress, just peace.. I instantly understood why my sis chose to settle here. It’s giving “fresh start energy.” ✨
Before we got to where we are now, let’s rewind a bit. Back then, me and my sister didn’t grow up with much. I still remember us eating junk food with rice—like those 1-peso snacks, just to make it through the day. That was normal for us. Survival mode. We didn’t think too hard about it. That was just life.
Fast forward to today my sister is building a fitness gym. HER OWN GYM. That shift from barely getting by to creating something meaningful and healthy for others?? That’s growth. That’s hustle. That’s healing...
I’m so proud of her it’s hard to put into words...
The Gym: Mid-July Launch Hype 🏋️♀️
The big opening’s coming up in mid-July and I’m not even exaggerating when I say it’s gonna be lit. My sister and her hubby poured everything into this. Their time, money, effort, literal blood-sweat-tears type beat.
Not Just Fitness
It’s not just about working out. It’s about helping people feel strong—mind, body, heart. They’re making a space where you can grow and feel safe. I really feel lucky to see it all happen,
Best Part: Fam Time 👨👩👦
What made this trip extra special? Time with fam. Got to hang out with my sis, her hubby, and our lil bro. We don’t always get to be together, so this meant a lot.
No big plans, no wild stuff. Just real talks, yummy food, beach time, and sunset chills. 🌅 Being with people who know the real you just hits different.
Sipalay = Peace Mode 🌺
Sipalay isn’t just some pretty beach. It’s got this calm vibe that makes you slow down in a good way. The sand, the breeze, the sound of the waves...
It’s the kind of place that lets you breathe. Your mind clears up, and you remember what really matters. I didn’t just go there for my sister’s gym launch, I needed that time too.
To to look back, and to feel proud of how far we’ve come...
Now I get it, why they picked Sipalay. Why they’re starting their new life there. It’s not just a background. It’s the beginning of something real. 🌟
Looking back, those 3 days were a lot long rides, tired legs, messy moments. But I wouldn’t trade it. Every delay and every bump along the way?
When I saw my sister living her dream. I saw a new chapter and I saw a version of myself that’s more grateful, more present, more proud...
We came from struggle. From sharing snacks just to fill our stomachs. Now my sister’s about to open a space that promotes health and strength. That shift? That’s what makes this whole journey beautiful.
Sipalay will always be more than a destination to me. It’s the place where I saw dreams come alive. Where I reconnected with my family. Where I reminded myself that long roads do lead to good things. 💙
So yeah, 10/10 would travel again—even with all the drama. Sometimes the best stories start with “I almost gave up.” And this one? This was definitely one of them.
