Como les he estado comentando en post anteriores, este fin de semana nos fuimos a conocer pueblitos, primero pasando por Caicara, donde ya habíamos ido y luego nos fuimos a Guanaguana.

As I mentioned in previous posts, this weekend we went to visit some small towns, first passing through Caicara, where we had already been, and then we went to Guanaguana.
Guanaguana es un pequeño pueblo ubicado en el municipio Piar, al noroeste de mi estado Monagas, específicamente hacia los valles de mi pequeño estado.
Aquí es donde están viviendo actualmente mis tíos, Milena y Carlos. Rosmila les compró una pequeña casita en este pintoresco pueblo porque después de la muerte de uno de sus hijos, mi adorado primo Carlos Luis, mis tíos estaban cayendo en una depresión fuerte, así que para que tuvieran otros aires y misiones diarias y distracciones, ahora viven acá.
Es una casa que no está terminada, a eso me refiero con misiones, pues esto se convirtió en el gran proyecto de mi tío Carlos, él adora invertirle a su casita, ir construyéndola y sembrar en su huerto, a su vez, mi tía Milena lo apoya siempre y acompaña.
Guanaguana is a small town located in the municipality of Piar, northwest of my state of Monagas, specifically towards the valleys of my small state.
This is where my aunt and uncle, Milena and Carlos, currently live. Rosmila bought them a small house in this picturesque village because after the death of one of their children, my beloved cousin Carlos Luis, my aunt, and uncle fell into a deep depression, so they now live here to have a change of scenery and daily tasks and distractions.
It is a house that is not finished, which is what I mean by tasks, as this became my Uncle Carlos's big project. He loves investing in his little house, building it, and planting in his garden, while my aunt Milena always supports and accompanies him.

Guanaguana queda a unos 30-35 minutos de Caicara, después de nuestra parada allá emprendimos nuestro camino aproximadamente a las 6 PM, un poco tarde, así que nos agarró la noche en la carretera y yo tenía un poco de miedo, pero todo bien, llegamos sanos y salvos.
Nuestros tíos estaban muy felices porque teníamos mucho tiempo sin verlos, pues no es muy cerca esto que digamos y no habíamos tenido la oportunidad de venir.
Este día como llegamos de noche no pudimos hacer más que comer y dormir para prepararnos para pasar un buen domingo en familia y conocer.
Al día siguiente después de un rico desayuno que nos prepararon los tíos, nos fuimos a conocer la gran Cruz de la Unión, que no estaba muy lejos de la casa donde estabamos pero la cantidad de escalones si que nos hizo jadear al subir, pero valió totalmente la pena, tenía una vista muy hermosa del pueblo, un hermoso cielo azul y mucha vegetación.
Guanaguana is about 30-35 minutes from Caicara. After our stop there, we set off at around 6 PM, a little late, so night fell while we were on the road I was a little scared, but everything was fine and we arrived safe and sound.
Our aunt and uncle were very happy because we hadn't seen them in a long time. It's not very close, and we haven't had the opportunity to visit.
Since we arrived at night, we couldn't do much more than eat and sleep to prepare ourselves for a nice Sunday with the family and get to know them.
The next day, after a delicious breakfast prepared by our aunt and uncle, we went to see the great Cruz de la Unión, which was not very far from the house where we were staying, but the number of steps made us pant as we climbed, but it was totally worth it. It had a beautiful view of the town, a beautiful blue sky, and lots of vegetation.

Después caminamos hacia una pequeña quebrada, es una pequeña porción de lo que es el Río de Guatatar, pese a que no era muy hondo, era hermoso, aquí mojamos nuestros pies y caminamos un rato disfrutando de las vistas, el agua estaba helada.
Luego volvimos a la casa para alistarnos para el último y esperado destino, el Gran Salto de Guanaguana, aquí si nos íbamos a dar un chapuzón porque se trataba de una cascada y río abajo que si era hondo, rodeado de piedras y vegetación, un hermoso río. El agua estaba helada pero el sol estaba en su punto, así que hacía un buen equilibrio y no nos daba tanto frío.
Las mañanas en Guanaguana son bastante frías, llegando a unos 18°, cosa que me sorprendió porque en Maturín no llegamos a esa temperatura ni lloviendo, pero es entendible, aquí estabamos rodeados de montañas.
Then we walked to a small stream, which is a small part of the Guatatar River. Although it wasn't very deep, it was beautiful. We dipped our feet in and walked around for a while enjoying the views. The water was freezing.
Then we returned to the house to get ready for our last and most anticipated destination, the Gran Salto de Guanaguana. Here we were going to take a dip because it was a waterfall and river below that was deep, surrounded by rocks and vegetation—a beautiful river. The water was freezing, but the sun was shining, so it was a good balance and we weren't too cold.
Mornings in Guanaguana are quite cold, reaching about 64°F, which surprised me because in Maturín we don't reach that temperature even when it rains, but it's understandable because here we were surrounded by mountains.

Nos bañamos junto a nuestros primos, aquí estuvimos gran parte del día, nadando, comiendo y demás, fue genial, pero terminamos sumamente cansados.
Volvimos a casa porque nos esperaba un gran plato de sopa y luego una siesta reparadora.
Lamentablemente el lunes bien temprano por la mañana nos devolvimos a Maturín, pero quedé encantada con el pueblo de Guanaguana, espero que pronto podamos volver para conocer más.
Gracias a mí familia por recibirnos.
We bathed with our cousins and spent most of the day here swimming, eating, and so on. It was great, but we ended up extremely tired.
We went back home because a big bowl of soup was waiting for us, followed by a restorative nap.
Unfortunately, we had to return to Maturín early on Monday morning, but I was enchanted by the town of Guanaguana. I hope we can return soon to see more.
