Metropolitan Cathedral of Calabozo - Venezuela | Travel

Venezuela like many other countries of America lived the process of Colonization, it was a hard stage of conquest and in those years they began to build cities inspired by the European culture, which had styles like the ones we see in this church.

The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Villa de Todos los Santos de Calabozo is built in a baroque style, this architectural style is originally from Rome and there are many constructions like this church that have the baroque style in the city of Calabozo.

Venezuela como muchos otros países de América vivió el proceso de Colonización, fue una dura etapa de conquista y en esos años se empezaron a construir ciudades inspiradas en la cultura europea, que tenían estilos como los que vemos en esta iglesia.

La catedral Metropolitana de la Villa de Todos los Santos de Calabozo está construida en un estilo barroco, este estilo arquitectónico es originario de Roma y hay muchas construcciones como esta iglesia que tienen el estilo barroco en la ciudad de Calabozo.

Being the cathedral of the city is a very complete church, has a dome, bell tower, and although it was closed, I comment that internally has a beautiful stained glass windows, a beautiful shape in its roof and its benches are brown wood.

I remember when I was a teenager one of my Art Education work was to draw in my blog this church, so during different days I sat in the square in front on the same bench to keep the angle until I finished the drawing, although it was very beautiful I am sorry I can not show you because I lost that blog.

In this church the main catholic events of this city take place; in December there is a nativity scene competition in front of the church, which is very beautiful and many people attend especially to listen to the Christmas songs. I don't know if these festivities have been held recently due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Al ser la catedral de la ciudad es una iglesia muy completa, posee cúpula, campanario, y aunque estaba cerrada, les comento que internamente tiene unas hermosos vitrales de colores, una hermosa forma en su techo y sus bancos son de madera color marrón.

Recuerdo que cuando era adolescente uno de mis trabajos de Educación Artísticas fue dibujar en mi blog esta iglesia, así que durante diferentes días me sentaba en la plaza que se encuentra al frente en un mismo banco para conservar el ángulo hasta que terminé el dibujo, aunque quedó muy hermoso siento no poder mostrárselos porque perdí ese blog.

En esta iglesia se realizan los principales eventos católicos de esta ciudad; en diciembre se hace una competencia de pesebres al frente de la iglesia, la cual es muy hermoso y asisten muchas personas sobre todo para escuchar las canciones decembrinas. No se si recientemente se han realizado estas festividades debido a la pandemia del Covid-19.

This building is more than 230 years old since its inauguration and although it has had small renovations they try to maintain its original style.

I would like it to be open to the public so they can experience a little more about how is its structure and all the history it has, however I was not lucky enough to find it open to take some shots for the blog.

Esta construcción tiene más de 230 años desde su inauguración y aunque ha tenido remodelaciones pequeñas tratan de mantener su estilo original.

Me gustaría que estuviese de forma abierta al publico para que puedan experimentar un poco más sobre como es su estructura y toda la historia que tiene, sin embargo no tuve la suerte de encontrarla abierta para hacerles algunas tomas para el blog.
