Jatamundia-Subarnapur - the scenic ambience in nature's lap
Couple of weeks back, I along with couple of friends traveled for two days to spend some time in nature's lap. Covid has impacted all of our travel plan. Though, things are opening up slowly, its still risky to travel outside. We have a friend who is working there and arranged the itinerary, that included Anshupa Lake and Satkosia. Though there are several routes to go there, we decided to take a route from my native place, that is full of scenic beauty and spend some time en route. It was all men's affair 😀 and everyone was excited to leave all the busy life behind and enjoy some moments.
See the cows on the small hill top ? The area is full of desi cows and supply milk to various milk federations that prepare packet milks. The road is not very wide, and we faced couple of cattle herds and barely they respond to the horn - they only listen to the man driving them - the beauty of rural life.
En route, saw this nice pond, and small kids enjoying the time. They were all naked and jumping in style which attracted me to take some snaps. But when I stopped the car and went near the bank, they were all inside 😁 and did not come out. One of them was the guard in charge of all clothes
After driving for a hour and half, we reached at the Subarnapur area and had to take diversion to enter the Subarnapur bridge - which is also called Jatamundia-Subarnapur bridge - built few years back opening the gateway to these tourist places from my side. Its a long bridge with scenic views and we decided to spend some time there.
There are steps built to go to the river bank and enjoy the lush green like dense forest - even sunlight does not reach inside. You will have to walk a bit to go to the river bank and need to be cautious, but once we reached there, we felt like not coming back from there. It's a nice picnic spot and was not crowded at all when we visited but in December it's often packed. Since our lunch was already planned at our friends place, we did not think about taking some food with us. But one can take food and spend some nice time here.
How does the place feel ? The cool ambience in the bank is very much suited for a picnic. We thought of walking till the river but then we saw some ladies on this side and gave up. This is where, people catch those happiest fishes eating no artificial food. We came back only after our friend called in saying he is waiting and hungry - little did we realize we were there for two hours.
Met this old man - 81 - still takes these animals every day and quite happy with life - look at his gadgets. And now some nice views from the bridge - this is a hub for sand - they dig day and night and transport to nearby areas.
And finally when we reached , look at the smile - he was scolding us on phone for being late but when he saw us he forgot..To be continued...
