If you are traveling up North of Luzon and want some Sandy adventure. Don't miss dropping by Barangay Paoay, Ilocos Norte Sand dune Adventure located in the City of Laoag. It's unsual to a desert in the Philippines and this is one that you can enjoy, when you're travelling.
The Locals are offering a 4x4 buggy ride from their station to the Sand dunes. One buggy cost about PhP2,500.00 (USD$45) which can be shared by four people. The locals will take you for a wild ride traversing the humps and bumps of the sandy dunes, it's almost like a rollercoaster trip!
They will take you to the edge of the dunes where the Sand and the Sea meets, where you can hangout for a bit and take picture of the scenic view. The time we went there it was so windy, the sands are just flying around every and it actually hurts as it hit your skin.
After another 30 minutes, buggy ride would take you to the Sand boarding spot, Sand boarding is included from the initial payment, and you can do it as much as you want. I personally did it four times since I couldn't finish all the way down and I kept on falling. LOL.
This adventure takes about Two to Three hours, they have a photographer as well who would take pictures of the whole adventure, if you want it to have it printed out, you have to pay for it, when you get back on their station.
What we did, the Local said, they could give us all the soft copy if we print out at least 10 photo, so we did..(actually only 8 was printed out), good thing the lady we are with knows the local dialect and ask the guy if we can do just that and still get the soft copy. so we did!

It's so Fascinating how the Sand and the Sea, seems so calm in the Photo, but to be honest, the Wind was so strong, the Wave was so Violent and the Sands stings like a thousand bees on the skin.
