That’s been me lately.
Classes just started again, and I’ve been feeling all sorts of drained. Not just physically—but mentally. Everything feels too fast. Too demanding. Too much.
So I didn’t go home after class like I usually do.
Instead, I packed my bag, slipped my phone into my pocket, and just… left. I wasn’t sure where I was going at first, but one place popped into my head: Buenavista.
It’s not too far from where I live—just around 29 kilometers. But for some reason, I’ve never really explored it. That day, something told me to go. And without overthinking it, I did.
When I arrived, I had no destination in mind. Just me and my tired self, walking around, hoping something would pull me in.
And then… I found it.
I can’t even describe the exact spot. It wasn’t a resort or a famous beach. It was just this quiet little area—overlooking the sea, surrounded by trees and sky. The kind of place that doesn’t try to impress you… but ends up doing it anyway.
The wind hit me first.
It wasn’t the kind of wind you get in the city. This one was fresh. Cool. It smelled like salt and leaves. And it felt like it was brushing away the heaviness I’d been carrying all week.
I sat down on a rock near the water.
The waves were calm. They weren’t loud or dramatic—they just were. Washing in. Washing out. Over and over. Like they’d been doing it forever. Like they didn’t care about deadlines, or pressure, or whatever problems I brought with me.

I don’t know if it was the place, the timing, or maybe just what I needed in that exact moment. But Buenavista gave me something I didn’t know I was missing.
But you know what made it feel even warmer?
I wasn’t the only one there.
Just a few steps away, I noticed families quietly enjoying the afternoon. A dad showing his little boy how to throw a fishing line into the sea. Kids running around barefoot, their laughter echoing over the water. A mom sitting on a mat, brushing her daughter’s hair as the waves rolled in softly behind them.
Watching them… I don’t know, something hit me.
It made me pause.
There was something in that moment I can't even describe right. It was quiet, calm — and for once, I just sat there... not doing anything.
No school stuff in my head.
No pressure.
No rush.
Just me, the wind, and the sound of waves.
I looked around and saw some families nearby, just hanging out. Kids were laughing, some people eating, others just staring at the sea like me. And I don’t know — it just felt good to be there.
Like… really there. Not thinking of what to do next. Just letting myself breathe.
I saw a father helping his little boy hold a fishing rod. A few kids splashing near the shore, laughing with so much joy. A mother brushing her daughter’s hair slowly, both of them smiling while staring out at the sea.
It made me realize how much I missed this kind of life.
The kind that doesn’t demand anything from you.
No expectations, no deadlines — just presence.
That’s what Buenavista gave me.
It’s not just a place you visit… it’s a place that brings you back to yourself.
When things get too heavy or too loud, I think we all need a spot like this — where the wind is soft, the world quiets down, and you can finally listen to what your heart’s been trying to say.
The ocean doesn’t really talk, but weirdly… it makes you feel like it understands. Like it knows you’re tired without saying anything.
And just sitting there, listening to the waves — it kind of makes things feel lighter. Even if nothing changes, somehow you feel a bit better.
Life gets loud sometimes.
Too loud.
Too many things going on. Too much to think about. It all just crashes in your head at once.
But there… by the sea… everything slowed down. And for the first time in a while, I felt okay again. And when it gets like that… you start to forget what peace feels like.
But that day in Buenavista? It reminded me.
The breeze was soft, like a quiet hug. The ocean didn’t talk — but being near it, I didn’t feel the need to say anything either. It was enough just to sit there. To breathe. To watch the water move without a rush.
No answers. No pressure.
Just that slow, steady rhythm of the waves telling me:
“You don’t have to carry everything today.”
