Hello everyone, it’s me sheeniiee! After a long tiring semester of studying and having our clinical duties, I now got the time to relax. We finally made it to Medellin, Cebu — and the trip was totally worth it. From the busy streets of Cebu City, we drove all the way to the north to spend some time away from the noise, just relaxing with the fam. You can also just ride a bus in south bus terminal in Cebu City, all the way to Medellin if you want. But preferably, I’d rather just go in a car to make the travel more fun. The weather was perfect, the sun was out, and the skies were so blue it looked like I was in a movie.
When we arrived, we went to check out the house we just bought, which still feels so surreal. It’s close to the beach — like literally just a short walk away like 3 minutes. So of course, after settling in a bit, we couldn’t wait to head straight to the shore and relax to enjoy the beautiful view. It's not even too hot to just wait till the sun sets, but it's just so perfect that we ran straight to the beach nearby. And the view was so breathtaking that I stared and took some pictures for 15 minutes straight.
The beach was calm and peaceful. There are also small boats that just arrived from fishing. During this visit, there is a local fishermen that approached us and told us that the sunset view here is beautiful. With the warm and soft sand under our feet that makes it more relaxing was a 10/10 experience. Alongside with the sound of the waves was just the kind of peace we all needed. We took a walk along the shore, laughing, talking, and soaking in the salty breeze. My cousins and I dipped into the water for a quick swim. It wasn’t anything too wild, just enough to cool off and feel the ocean again.
As the day slowly turned into golden hour, we sat by the beach and just watched the sunset. My favorite part of the day. The sky turned shades of orange, pink, and purple — it was honestly so beautiful that I wanted to just pause the moment and enjoy it a bit more. One of my favorite parts was just quietly looking out at the sea, feeling the wind on my face, and picking up random seashells from the sand. Walking alongside the beach and looking for shells is my kind of hobby when visiting a beach. I even found a few big ones that I’m keeping as souvenirs.
Travelling to the north side of cebu is totally worth it! And it’s so peaceful and relaxing here. It made me think that all of those sleepless nights studying was all worth it at the end because I got to enjoy the view, the sea, and the sunset.
Ending it with this beautiful and breathtaking sunset is a wonderful experience. The beautiful colors in the sky and the refreshing waves of the sea made this ending ten times more beautiful as it is. There was nothing too fancy about the day, but that’s what made it feel so special to me. It was just about being present, spending time with family, and enjoying the simple things. This was truly a day to remember, Medellin already feels like a second home. I can’t wait to make more memories here.
