Being in a doctor’s office from 9am to 4pm for a whole week gets really old really fast. That’s what we do when we head down to Campbell, CA for my Son’s scoliosis intensive treatment. Rotating through each of the therapies 3 times a day. On Friday it’s a half day so we tried to do something a little fun. We thought it would be great to go and visit the Winchester Mystery House. My beautiful wife and I hadn’t been there since around 2006 after we moved to California. Well, that didn’t pan out too well. I didn’t think we needed to make reservations… but I was wrong. We would have had to split up into 2 groups and go an hour apart… no thanks. I guess better luck next time. Piss poor planning on my part.

This called for some quick Goat Thinkin’… The coast isn’t too far away, so we chose to take highway 17 to Santa Cruz. We bypassed that circus and headed north on highway 1 to the Natural Bridges.

Of course the wind was blowing a bit but that made the surfing good. We could see group of them off in the distance waiting for good wave to ride. Then looking south we could see another group. I take it this must be a popular place to Hang Ten. They were a little far out for a decent photo with my phone.
We sat there and watched this little guy for few moments. As he dodged the waves coming in, then quickly chased the waves back to see snatching himself up a little grub. I couldn’t tell what he was catching, or if it was a he or she…

From the constant crashing waves these rocks were left with a smooth finish. Resembled the appearance of wet clay but… it was solid rock.

The dry portions of the solid rock that surround the sand had some really interesting markings on them. Reminded me of some sort of Henna Tattoo.

We wondered around a bit jumping over tide pools and messing with the sea anemones. The kids didn’t like the feeling of them gripping their fingers as they closed around it. Mama Splatts wouldn’t leave them things alone. HAHAHA.

We just wondered around for a while but got stuck watching the waves hit the Natural bridge. We would try and guess which wave would produce the biggest upward splash. When the tide is out you can actually walk through it. Bad timing again…

I imagine there is a ton of beech here when the tide is out. A good place to go to avoid the chaos of Santa Cruz. We just hung out, walked around, goofed around until our bellies started to growl and the sun was getting close to saying “Good Bye”. I nice little break from the daily grind at the Scoliosis are Center.

Of course we couldn’t leave without a little family photo shoot. I swear every time we take a picture at the beach, Mama Splatts always be wearing that hoodie. 🤣😂🤣 I love that Woman!!

It took a few shots but I think we found a winner
