The region where I lives in India is abundant with many natural reservoirs. While the place is very famous for various sources of mineral and ores. It is quite famous for some natural elegance and serene beautiful landscapes. Jungles, mountains, rivers form a formidable set up to woo anyone. The set up is such that even after traveling for a good amount of distance, you never feel tired. And even a small break in vlbetween is very refreshing.
As I was drinking few sip of water in middle of a journey just above a flowing river, with some breathtaking picturesque background, I was mesmerised with the natural set up. It was a flowing river and some temples one one side. This is one of the famous river in the eastern state of India.
The Barakar River is famous for being the main tributary of the Damodar River in eastern India. This river is known as the "Sorrow of Bengal" due to its frequent floods. The Barakar River flows through the states of Jharkhand and West Bengal, skirting the Parasnath Hills, the highest hill in the region. As I was crossing over the river, I stopped for a regular break. I was co tonously driving for 3 hrs and a break is importsnt tomrelax our body. But nature is a great healer, my break proves to be boon. Looking atbthe bast river and it's adjacent areas was very capitivating.
There were many Mahavir community temples built at one side of the river. While the other side of bridge is made for bathing. People from far off pla es visit this river to take a holy bath. In Indian cultures it is assumed that bathing in a flowing river provide purety to body. So at many ocassion people visit this place to take a dip. This is not a holy river likes of Ganga or Yamuna, yet it hold special significance for the people living in adjoining areas. There was an old Iron bridge just beside this new bridge. The old bridge was the symbol of Beitishers architecture but with the passage of time, it stands rusty.
The operational bridge was not so crowded and finding it as an oppurtunity, I spent some quite time above the river. I was actually fascinated by the magnificent natural set up. At the time when my body was tiring and ready to give up due to cintinous driving, I was experiencing a new lease of life. Standing atop the bridge I was breathing a new lease of life.
While it was a peace short stay, due to national holiday, the bridge had witnessed many vehicle accident. It was not far when a Public transport bist fell into the river with many casualties. After refreshing myself with fresh cool freeze and charismatic sounds of water, I began my further journey. It was welcome break for me in the tiring journey I covered todsy. Infact in total I drive 230 km non stop during the day. But before hitting the bed, I thought to wrap up the day with these beautiful natural pictures of the river.
