Well Hello There Fellow Travelers And Hivers!
The day started with no set plan to execute, so it was a bit of a slow start during the early morning hours but once we got going things went into motion quite quickly.
As I said we had no apparent plan for the day, besides it was probably for the best that we didn't plan on doing anything. The morning left us with a clouded, cold and wet start to the morning, actually most of the day. We still have a shipwreck to uncover but for that we need or more like want a nice sunny day and then we still want to visit Stil Bay and for that we NEED a perfectly sunny day otherwise it would be pointless.
So with no plan we decided to do a walk down the Cape St.Blaize Trail, but this time we shall venture a little bit further! You know perhaps around the point this time! Let's see what wonders lay beyond, we chose this because the Betty wanted to go grab some tea cups that she saw at the antique shop, but it led to a lot of sadness, it seems they have already been sold.
We were a bit too late!
Before we started the walk, we decided to go for a breakfast after all we might need the energy! We decided to try The Merchant in Mossel Bay and see how good they compare to the Heiderant shop, I can't really tell the difference to be honest, both places seem great, we decided on picking a different shop to get a different scenery as to not visit everything twice on the same holiday.
P.S No it's not a Brothers, although they do sell their merchandise.

A shop that we walked past but didn't actually go in, I found it worthy of a photo though. We walked past it on the way to the antique shop to get the Betty's tea cup set which has already been sold. I'm sorry for that, I know you really wanted it @misshugo.

On The Way To The Point
During this time of year reaching the point isn't impossible although it might test your patience, over and over and over. It's a slow and frustrating drive but at least we have some cool looking buildings on the way. This is one of the buildings I've been meaning to share for a while now, but never got around to taking a photo.

The Start Of Great Memories
For some this might look familiar, for others it might be new, a few months ago I wrote a post about a walk we took on a path that led through and over cliffs right next to the ocean side.
Well that trail/walk starts on the point at the big cavernous hole in the mountain side. Me and the Betty thought it good to have a go at it again, we wont be doing the whole trail but we want to take a good chunk out of it or at-least go a little further than we did last year.
Here we go.
The start of the adventure!
The last time we did the walk we made it till the point of rock that pushes out into the ocean, it doesn't look very far in the photos but it's some ways off.
I won't be sharing something with every photo because I took a lot, I find them extra gorgeous, I don't know what it is? Perhaps seeing the intense beautifull blue combined with the sky and cliffs must add some other worldly twist to the pictures.

In the first pictures of starting the adventure one can see the biggest of the two cave's, it's really big one can't really miss it, but most people don't know about the smaller one that sits a few feet away, somewhat more hidden.
Even when walking the trail up and down you can miss it if you focus on only where you step, no doubt I would prefer that, but I also recomend when doing a trail much like this one, try and make a point of it to stop and rest so that one can scan the area around you and see what hidden treasures there might be. It's so easy for us to miss the beautifull moments in life, one has to make them! Savour them and enjoy them!

It got me again, one would think you know what to expect, almost as if to think meh I went through it already it has to be boring no doubts about it.
And yes I knew what to expect but I didn't expect for it to blow me away all from the start! As if I have never laid eyes on the wonders of nature before.
Now can you imagine how much force must be applied for those layers and layers of rockbeds to be pushed up like that. No doubts hundreds and hundreds of years of course. But besides that it's such a breath taking view, I wish oh how I wish that the photos did justice for what my eyes had behold!

The torn out empty spaces where rocks use to fill, they look small don't they? But they are actually enormous. I know they might not be anything compared to the great canyon but it's something to behold.
The Serene Serenity Of It All
It looks amazing doesn't it?
Even though the wind was stirring quite strongly, it didn't have much of an visual effect on the water, usually you'll see white flecks covering the ocean when the wind is as strong.
The feeling one gets when standing on the high points of the cliffs having the chance to look down where the waves crash and roar against the rocks below. The feeling is other worldly beyond a measure. It makes you realize how small you actually are, you're nothing and I'm also nothing compared to this roaring ocean beneath my feet.
If I was to fall off this cliff, my body would most likely never be found. I know this sounds brutal to say the least but it's factual at-least.
The Views Where Roaring Water Meets Hardened Cliffs
I found that I am fond of the spots where the water crashes hard against the rocky cliffs, The white salt stains on the blue ocean blanket adds a beautiful enigma that I just can't explain. I'm sure those who have seen what I'm talking off can share the same story.
One thing that I won't mind doing is taking a skydiving adventure down by the ocean side, if I'm this high up and it looks as breathtaking as now, I would love to see how it looks 15000 feet in the air where you can look as far as your eyes can see!

Since were taking so many photos of beautifull views, I think it fair to add this one in between the bunch! I'm sure it's more than befitting for the situation.

And a few more will do just fine! Sadly enough we took most of the photos of the Betty on the way down. And why we always forget to take photos of us on our journeys really baffles me! We have like a hundred photos but 5 out of those hundred are of which we took of ourselves.
But at-least I've got Hive where I can document my stories and well losing photos just isn't an option anymore is it! Hive is something magnificent really.

The whole journey starts with a series of stair cases winding up the side of the mountain. I only noticed on the way back that I've never included them into a post. Well here is a photo or two of them.
I think the staircase makes or breaks the journey for a person. Either you climb up arrive at the top a little bit too tired to go on or that's when the muscles loosened and you are now ready for an adventure.
I think this is also what makes it a bit trickier for older people to do this trial, the fear of slipping and hurting one self.
The Betty being a little crazy! I can tell you why, because she knew she was getting ice cream!

We Got Our Iced Cream
See this time around we were a little bit more clever! We didn't eat the ice cream before hand, the last time we did the journey after eating iced cream, that made us lazier and well left us with a journey of sticky hands because the sun is friendly but not so much, if you slack on eating the iced cream it well, melts! That's all their is to it.
So we did the walk and then came back for iced cream, I think both of us enjoyed that a little bit more. Since we were able to relax and eat the ice cream in the parking lot while we rested our legs a bit before going homewards!
Next year we shall try and go even further along the Cape St.Blaize Trail perhaps go further every year until we've managed to do the whole walk which amounts to 14 kilometers I think.
