Hi everyone! Itโs me, Cian ๐. Wanna see some Turquoise water? ๐ฆ
It all started way back when we were still at the start of our new semester in college. My squad always plans to go to tourist destinations here in Cebu every time we'll all have free time together. May it be just for a little chit-chat, meet-ups to overnights just for us to catch up with each other's life and stories.
As a group of irregular students, we never can be complete in school because one already has taken the subject or plans to take a subject next semester because of already heavy workload. This is the very reason why all of our gatherings are special and as much as possible, we'll make sure that it will be a memorable one. They are my second family and every moment spent with them is always precious.
And so our drawing of a lot of plans to have an adventure together starts here. But coloring that drawing was never easy haha.
We planned during the semester if we can go there during weekends. Preferably after the class week ( Monday to Friday ), but sadly, a lot of problems and reasons for us not to continue with our plans always pile up on top of one another. Some have Saturday classes and have to still pass some school requirements, while others have emergency events and some family celebrations. We just couldn't seem to be together haha.
That is why we decided to have it after the semester ends where all can most probably can come already; and voila, it really did happen hahaha. โค๏ธ
KAWASAN FALLS
We first decided if we want to explore Northern part of Cebu this time since we already kept on having our vacation trips to South most of the time. But... we still ended up choosing south hahahaha. and our first stop is Kawasan Falls.
This falls is situated in the southwestern part of the province of Cebu in the Philippines. Well, it won't be a shocker anymore if you've already heard this place from someone else or have seen a post appreciating the beauty of this place here in Hive.
The falls is a cascading falls too - tiered - just like the falls in Samar, Philippines (Bangon Falls) that I've shared about a month ago.
We walked ๐ถ from highway to the falls for around 15 - 20 minutes and passed by the Level 1. My squad stayed at the level 2 and paid for a cottage there. When we went there, the place is not that crowded. Something that is very unusual especially since this is one of the most famous tourist destination in the province and we came here on a weekend.
On normal days, Kawasan Falls is packed with a lot of tourists, a mix of locals and foreigners. That is why I would highly recommend for you to come here earlier to avoid the surge of people and have that picture you've been wanting to have without having others photobombing it unintentionally haha.
Going there, locals do have a lot of life vests ๐ฆบ to choose from for visitors to rent (1-2 USD). It's required to rent one per individual for safety purposes.
Of course I won't miss the chance to have my "mandatory" portrait with the falls and some groufie to have something to look back of this memorable moment.
Say cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese! ๐ทโจ
JESSA'S EXPERIENCE
A nice thing to share is that Jessa and her friends went here too but just after doing some canyoneering nearby Kawasan Falls.
Jessa and her friends paid a total of P1500 (30 USD) each person for their canyoneering experience in Alegria in which at the 4th jumping point (out of seven) is where the Badian canyoneeringโs 1st jumping point starts. The end of the Badian canyoneering is the Level 2 of Kawasan Falls.
p.s. Badian canyoneering and Alegria canyoneering are two different packages.
At that point where the two canyoneering meets, they just had a few more jumps and after jumping at the last point of Alegria canyoneering, they decided to make the most out of it ๐. They went straight to Kawasan Falls by walking to the highway then to the falls.
Theyโve stayed only at the level 1 of the falls wherein theyโve used the bamboo raft to maneuver around the level and took some groufies for keeps. The experience sure is relaxing and fun. ๐
FOODS AND A LITTLE BIT OF TAGAY
Now back to my (Cian) squad's adventure, we brought our own foods with us to somehow save money and I think itโs much better that way because we BTS (bring to share). Also, we must never forget the drinks hahaha. We really secured the softdrinks and alcoholic drinks haha.
The word "Tagay" is a Filipino word that means to cheers, shot, drink some liquor/alcoholic drinks. ๐
Shot ๐บ naaaaaaaaa bai hahahaha ๐บ ๐.
We actually went back being a little bit drunk and it was one of the hardest thing we did that day. Imagine walking in an unpaved road, going up and down the rocks, such a struggle hahaha. We sure were tipsy already and itโs not even night yet ๐ .
Kawasan Falls is located in Barangay Matutinao, Badian, Cebu and is a kilometer away from the highway. You can ride a bus going in here or much better if you have your own service car so that you can also freely go to other famous tourist destinations nearby. Moalboal, Osmeรฑa Peak, Lambug Beach, and many more are just some of the places you can visit before or after Kawasan ๐.
WE WENT BACK BEFORE SUNSET
Just look at the color of the water - TURQUOISE ๐ฆ.
Sadly, we needed to end our outing at Kawasan Falls before sunset came because we still need to buy our dinner and go to Lambug Beach to stay for the night.
But we really had the time of our lives because we got to see its mesmerizing turquoise waters. The place is considered one of the cleanest falls in the Philippines. ๐ If the right time comes and Iโll be given the chance to go here again, I would, and for sure this time, do my first canyoneering ๐.
If youโre going to come to Kawasan, make the most out of it and go cliff diving - canyoneering and take a lot of pictures for memories โค๏ธ.
