🌄 EXCITING STORY OF CLIMBING MOUNT PRAU 🌄 One Night Full Of Joy Above The Clouds!
Hey Travel lovers...
Back again with me Tina, a beginner climber but with god-level enthusiasm! 😆 This time I want to share a super exciting experience when my group of friends from Jakarta and I climbed Mount Prau, the beauty of Dieng that's said to be perfect for beginners. And... it turns out IT'S TRUE. And you know what? This was my second climb, because the previous time I only encountered fog, and that was because I didn't stay overnight. Well, this time I stayed overnight, and did I get that beautiful view? Come check out my blog. 😍
🚌 DEPARTING FROM JAKARTA – THE STORY BEGINS! 🚌
We all left Jakarta on Friday night in a rented minibus. There were 15 of us, some carrying oversized bags like they were moving (even though they were only staying overnight, haha), and others were busy carrying their own bag of snacks. It was a lot of fun from the start.
We arrived at the Patak Banteng basecamp early in the morning, but the cold had us all wide awake and hungry. 😂
⛰️ START THE CLIMB – BREATHING IS INCREASED, STAYING UP! ⛰️
The climb was scheduled to start at 9 am, and we didn't forget to have breakfast to keep us energized. We were still able to walk the trail at first, haha, but after a while... wow, we started to get out of breath. But because it was crowded and there was so much joking, our exhaustion seemed to be masked by laughter. Oh yeah, at the beginning, we can order a motorcycle taxi to get to Post 1 to save time and energy. But if you take one, be prepared to have your heart racing because the motorcycle taxi drivers here drive like they're about to fly, haha.

My previous climb was via the old route, but now Patak Banteng is divided into two routes: the old and the new. I climbed via the new route, and it was mostly stairs. Honestly, it was more tiring than the old route, which was indeed difficult, but not without its roots, making us walk with small steps. The new route was full of stairs, which required extra effort to climb.
And yaaaa, the most exciting part was when we passed through the hills and savannah areas. It felt like a fairy tale, you know? Wowww ... Bright blue skies, cool air and wildflowers in bloom. I swear, this was truly healing. And the view made us want to stay in the shade for a long time, forgetting how far the journey was still, hahaha.
🏕️ HAPPY CAMPING – A NIGHT FULL OF STARS! 🏕️
We arrived at the campsite in the late afternoon and immediately set up the tent as the fog was starting to descend. The cold wind no joke, so a thick jacket and double socks were a must. I also brought a double jacket, thick socks, and gloves to keep me warm.
And you know what, at night? Wow... The sky full of stars, my friends were singing (although sometimes out of tune, lol), and we all sat down to eat rice, vegetables, and fried chicken. Woowww .... it was incredibly delicious. Afterward, we drank coffee and shared stories. It felt like we were in a romantic indie movie, but with a group of people, eaaa ✨
🌅 SUNRISE ON MOUNT PRAU – THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIFT! 🌅
I woke up at 3 a.m., half-open but excited to catch the sunrise. And when the sun appeared behind the sea of clouds... I was speechless! The sky was golden orange, clouds clumped beneath our feet, as if we were standing on top of the world. Soooo Beautifulll. 😭💛

You know what? We all looked at each other with emotion, as if we couldn't believe we'd get such a beautiful view, huhuuu. It felt like all our exhaustion had paid off. And especially for me, yeah. Who had come a second time just to see this beauty of God. This was a moment I'll remember for the rest of my life, wahhh ...
⬇️ DESCENDING THE MOUNTAIN – HAPPY HEART, FEET THROW ⬇️

Sooo... After enjoying the sunrise, we got ready for breakfast and packed up to head down. We decided to go down at 9 am so that we wouldn't arrive too late. The moment of descending the mountain is still exciting, even though your knees are starting to protest.
But every step was filled with laughter and hilarious stories from the climb. Especially when we arrived at basecamp, we were immediately greeted with meatball soup and sweet iced tea... HEAVENLY! 🍜
📌 TIPS FOR CLIMBING A MOUNTAIN FOR THEIR FIRST TIME 📌
- Don't bring too much stuff, you'll regret it!
- Do a little physical exercise before climbing so you don't get caught off guard.
- Wear comfortable shoes and bring spare sandals.
- Bring tissues and a portable bidet, because the toilet is at the top... well, that's it.
- Enjoy the moment, take photos, but don't forget to protect nature.
🧡 CONCLUSION 🧡
Mount Prau was a climb full of laughter, jokes, and a little drama. But most importantly, I came home not only with great photos, but also a happier heart full of stories.
Next? Who knows, Rinjani! But take it slow, okay? 😂
If you're a girl from a big city and curious about climbing a mountain, give Prau a try. It's not very high, but the views and experience are... amazing! 🌼
