Dreamers under the Astronomical Clock and a dream accommodation at the Expo Hotel in Prague
I'm not a great chef, I'm not a great artist, but I love art and I love food, so I'm the perfect traveler - Michael Palin.
As I've blogged before about our holiday last December in the Czech capital, Prague, in today's blog I want to introduce you to the hotel where we stayed for two days and some photos of a very popular sight in Prague, the Astronomical Clock.
Before going on holiday for a few weeks with our friends we did some research to see hotels with a good location and a decent price and the most important condition is that the hotel has its own parking.
I don't like the idea of leaving my car in unattended parking lots or far away from the hotel where I'm staying, so this hotel was just right, with a good location, not very far from the center, about 2.2 km (two hundred meters from the hotel was a tram stop and 400 m was a subway station), in a quiet area, by the way, the hotel parking was in the basement.
With the elevator we could go down to the underground parking.
The accommodation here was not expensive but it included breakfast, a very varied and very tasty breakfast, in self-service system, I was really very pleased with this hotel.
The room was very big (I didn't expect, from the pictures it didn't look so big), cleanliness everywhere, the bathroom was also very big and very clean, the bathroom was equipped with shower and bathtub, the rooms are equipped with modern facilities, in short we had very good conditions here, I forgot to tell you that Expo Hotel is a four star hotel.
The people at the reception were very kind, they answered us punctually to every question we asked, being for the first time in Prague we had a thousand questions, but they were patient and guided us very well, moreover they helped us with a ticket for public transport with a validity of 48 hours, that ticket cost 5 euro/person.
The hotel also has a place where you can wait if you can't check in because you arrived too early.
Yes, with a super good accommodation with public transport tickets we were ready to start exploring Prague.
After a day of exploring Prague you really must make a stop at one of the oldest and most amazing Astronomical Clocks in the world, the Astronomical Clock is located in the Old Town Square.
The clock offers a real show with 12 digits representing the zodiacs moving every hour (even we had patience to wait to see this show), the clock has a tower in which there is a platform where you can have a nice view of the city (we didn't go up because it was quite tired).
Even though it's evening, hunger doesn't get the better of us so we chose to eat something that looks like a hot dog (can't remember the name) and for dessert we had something fabulous (in Romania we call it Kurtos).
You could see the joy on people's faces, the streets were full of life, people were very friendly, and we got into the holiday spirit very quickly, so after a day of exploring sights an evening stroll through such places is welcome (I tried to avoid taking pictures of the people present as much as possible).
My dear followers and visitors this is my post today about one of the most visited Astronomical Clocks in the world as well as a superb hotel, Expo Hotel.
Yours @triplug!
