Hope you are doing well!
In today's blog I'll share my incredible experience of bike ride along with my friends to the Ghadwal region in Uttarakhand. Uttrakhand is as beautiful as Himachal, I love visiting here as I have lots of friends who belong to this incredible place ans honestly is paradise for travellers, spirituality seekers and for everybody. I started my journey all the way from Shimla and after covering so many kilometres on my bike 🏍 I finally reached Srinagar.
Let me introduce you to my bike it's KTM Adventure 390 and I named my bike - SKY. There is a reason behind this name, when I ride this motorcycle it feels like I can even touch sky, it's engine is so powerful and it feels so good riding on it.
While I was riding along the Alaknanda river I reached Srinagar and between Srinagar and Rudraprayag there is this beautiful temple that can't be ignored.
Located in the middle of alaknanda river this temple belongs to Maa Dhara Devi. The story behind this temple is very interesting, it is believed that the upper part of the goddess kali is here while the lower part of Mata rani is at Kalimat. Also it is believed that the idol of Maa Dhara Devi changes it's form threes times a day and represents the life cycle of women. At morning the Idol of Mata Rani resembles a young girl and during afternoon it resembles young women and at evening it resembles an elderly women.
Well I didn't have time to visit the temple but after knowing all these facts it's hard to not visit such incredible place. The river Alaknanda and Mandakini meets at Rudraprayag and it's called Rudraprayag sangam.
And have a look around the temple- the view is totally incredible!
The exact location is Kalyasaur at Srinagar in the Ghadwal Region of Uttarakhand. Srinagar is pretty too, I covered most of it in the bike. But this place has my heart. I can spend my day just by looking at this incredible view. The more I look at it, more incredible it gets.
And here are some of our pictures while we were enjoying the view. I have visited the place earlier twice and every time i pass through it. it feels different and new. A sudden wave of positive energy passed through you and in your hear you can feel it.
Here are some more pictures that I that day and all these pictures are taken by me with the help of my camera. Here is a picture of my helmet, which I absolutely love and if you are also a rider like me, I know you are also going to like it.
Riding at Uttarakhand is so different from riding at major cities, the weather here is too good. Not too hot and not too cold. In such weather I can ride all day long.
The wind passing through you while riding makes you feel more alive.
And here is our pictures posing for the camera with wide smile and happy heart.
There is this Alaknanda Hydro Electric Project near Dhara Devi Temple which is major source of hydro electric power of this area and it also attracts lote of tourists. *For the dam construction the original temple was relocated and these are the pictures of the new temple.
Maa Dhara Devi is protector of all the devotees and visitors going on Char Dham Yatra.
Locals of the Ghadwal region consider Maa Dhara Devi as living diety of Uttarakhand and all have great devotion toward Mata Rani. The temple is 560 meters above the sea level and it remains open all the time. Visiting here during the summers with your family is good idea. You can take blessings of Mata Rani and you can enjoy this incredible view.
People of uttarakhand has strong believe in this temple and they also believe that during 2013 major floods occurred cause the idol was removed from it's original place. Well this newly constructed temple is made in Katyuri architecture with golden dome.
There are count less stories behind this temple which shows the power of Mata Rani and justify the beliefs of locas. This temple attracts lots of devotees throughout the year and temple hosts several festival such as Navratri, Diwali and much mere. Do visit the place during the festival to get brirf view about the rich culture and heritage of Uttarakhand.
I hope you enjoyed reading it.
Thank you for your time.
