Radhe Radhe everyone!
Grateful for the love and support from you guys. Today I'll share pictures and story about my visit to the Gonbo Rangjon, or God's Mountain which is located at Lungnak Valley.
In my life I have never ever seen such a huge mountain which also have spiritual significance. Such a beauty it is. It's Gonbo Rangjon (which is also called Gonbo Ranjan or Gombo Ronjan) is nested at the remote Zanskar region of the Ladakh and honestly getting here is a big deal. I have been driving for 5 hours constant to get here from Padum. But the journey was beautiful too. It rewards you with beautiful landscape, high mountains peaks, river bridge and being you more close to the rich culture and heritage of Zanskar.
In my last post I have shared about the Zanskar River which is tributary of the Indus river. In our way to God's Mountain we crossed the Lungnak river and it flows between the mountains Zanskar and Ladakh.
Exactly this is between Padun road and Purne road and the tributary of indus river here is known as the Tsarap river. The turquoise waters of the catches your attention and you can't resist it's beauty. And the breathing view of the between the mountains is so heavenly.
As we keep going we crossed number of bridges and here's a picture I have taken from one of the bridge. And then we finally reached the village Laylong which is not quite famous or well known but if you stay here you get in-depth knowledge about the life at rural region of Ladhak. I have heard that these people have a very rich tradition culture, so do stop here if possible unlike me and enjoy the tranquility and natural beauty of the area.
Between the rugged mountains growing crop and doing agricultural practices is difficult task but people out here are hardworking and grow different vegetables using water from river for irrigation along with wheat and barley.
You will be amazed just like me when I first saw this view. On our way after crossing the LALONG VILLAGE I saw that the Tsarap river has taken a dangerous shape, the more beautiful it looks from far away more dangerous it gets when you get closer. The river is nearly 182 km long and been flourishing the human and animal life from eyons. The river is main source of irrigation and most of the town and villages are situated near it and doing agricultural practices.
After the Laylong village we reached the Prune village which lies in deep valleys which is quite isolated. All you can see is steep mountain, beautiful landscape, little vegetation and at such high altitude deserted region. I feel in love with the view as soon as I came out of my car and honestly I lost my mind. How could anyone not?
Ladhak is built different the more you travel more it unfolds and it left me in awe. The majestic mountain, curvy roads, the blue sky and everything around, it's like I was trying to capture it all in my memories as we as camera but at a how much you can capture. I wish I could stay here for month and explore every inch of it.
And after driving through and between beautiful landscape for six hours we finally reached our destination and all we can see was a high mountain peaks which is a subrange of higher Himalayas. The more closer we get more dramatic it looks and we were as excited as possible to discover more.
As we keep getting closer we noticed that the landscape became more dramatic and the mountain looked rocky with steep slopes with barren area around.
Gonbo Ranjan is a scared mountain of the region about the Buddhist community and it is well known for its awe inspiring beauty and the landscape around. This morning is often know as "The God's Mountain" or "The Protector" therefore the locals which are generally Buddhist often perform rituals to honour the mountains. Well trekking in not allowed in the Gonbo Ranjan but you can explore the nearby areas as it's perfect for some who loves adventure.
As we roamed frealy in this beautiful nature landmark, we noticed the peace around, the calmness here helps you to get rid of all the negativity and purify your aura. One thing we noticed and the monk over there told us is the face of lord Shiva in the mountains. We were shocked as it was so clearly imprinted in the mountain. Those who are Indian already know Lord Shiva and form others he is a hindu God with snake in his neck. Also all these pictures are taken by me with my camera Sony ZV-E10.
Here are some of the pictures we took there and man it still feels like dream to me. I enjoyed and loved every bit of it. Hope you enjoyed too.
Thanks for your time.
