Radhe Radhe Everyone 🙏
Hope y'all are doing great!
It's been so long I haven't posted anything but i'm back again and I want to share my experience of visiting rock garden , which is at chandigarh , india. Chandigarh is clean and green city and It is famous for its beautiful garden, museums and Shopping malls. This well planned city in the northern india is capital of two states, Punjab and Haryana.
The city is well planned by an architect called Le Corbusier who was a French. The city is well planned, clean and green always full of tourists.
Rock garden is among one of the most famous gardens in Chandigarh.
Situated near sukhna lake at chandigarh , this garden is spread over forty acres of land. The most an important thing about this garden is it is made up of from different type of waste materials such as ties , ceramic pipes , bangles , plastic etc. This garden sets a perfect example of recycling and upcycling the waste material and therefore , it attracts lots of tourists from all over the world. Lots of students do also visit this garden from their school trip and get a chance to know how waste material can be used effectively.
The entry fee of this garden is forty rupees, which make it affordable for every person out there and the process is quite simple. As
We entered the Rock Garden first we saw and huge open space surrounded by the huge walls. And then, as we kept moving forward, we saw the areas started to get enclosed and divided into parts, and we entered into the an area where we saw different and number of door shaped structure.
It took us( me and my friend) to a different part off the rock garden where we can see huge buildings in front of us with balconies in it. It looked so fascinating and unique. And what makes it more unique is it's all made up of recycled material.
A man named as Nek chand started this project in 1957, he was a government official who started this project on a forest land. He collected all tye waste from all around the chandigarh and started to build it. This Project got highlighted during 1070 when it was fully completely. Government of chandigarh decided Keep this garden Instead of demolishing it as it sets a perfect example of using waste products and materials and making something creative out of it.
Look at the beautiful and the unique architecture of this garden, these a walls are unique as well as these structures with balcony in it is amazing. There were so many entry and exit points here , and you can literally get confused from where you enter and from , where you have to leave. This is also unique in this garden, hahaha.
We entered from one of the doors and then what we saw in front of us was completely mesmerizing. There was a pond in front of us seriously it was a relief for us. The temperature at chandigarh rises very high, during the summer season , making it literally difficult to step out of your home And it's a jackpot when you visit a new place during summer and you spot a pond in front of you. It looked so pretty and I couldn't take my eye off from it.
And hear it comes with more surprises, a waterfall, which was pretty and helping down to cool me in the hot day. It was literally a relief. We took number of pictures here and all these pictures are taken by me with my iphone. You guys must pay wandering that this place is so pretty so unique and why no one is here?
Well the answer to that is I went there with some of my friends during the morning hours when it just opened. We had no such plan we were crossing through the area and we thought to go inside.
&This beautiful garden is situated in sector one of chandigarh , right next to sukhna lake giving you numerous options to entertain yourself. Although the whole garden was beautiful , but this specific spot has my heart.* And I think it's most famous one as well.
And here are numerous pictures that I took from different angle to show you guys how beautiful the garden looks. It is also perfect for those who want to do a photoshoot.
The leaves were all over the pond and it was looking magical as it should. It's a perfect place to go with your family and friends but I recommend you to visit during the evening, also you will see lots of visitors during that time.
We went there after cycling for 10 kilometres and it was exactly what I needed the most, a peaceful walk around the nature with waterfall and pond. Walk is one of the most important and most underrated practice, it helps in numerous ways and it's as good as you can think.
It was a great start of the day for me, I enjoyed the view around the overall experiences of the garden was lovely. I loved those mini balconies, the waterfall and the leaves floating in the water. If you want to experience the same, do visit the place and let me know your experience and what amazed you the most.
Just for the records, I have taken pictures all by myself. Hope you enjoyed the blog as much as I enjoyed taking pictures for it.
Thank you so much for reading.
