We have a special guest this weekend, my cousin came back from Jakarta. Since the weather recently was so damp and hot, we decided to visit this beautiful pool near our home. Greetings Hive World! I'm Iris from East Java, Indonesia. Let's take a dive into this secluded pool with a breathtaking view of paddy field and mountain silhouette.
This place is called Sabella Pool and it's loacated atvthe edge of Malang City, although not far away from the city center. Actually, it is located inside a housing area so not many people know this place. It was designed like Javanese ancient pool with dark stone tiles and surrounded by Javanese gazebo or we called it 'Joglo'. The entrance fee was about $1.5 USD per person, but if we order enough food and drink, we can use the pool for free. Since the menu were pretty decent and swimming always made us hungry, so we opted for the second choice.
My family was just recovered from a nasty flu season and we had postponed this visit several time because we took turn getting sick, so everybody was very excited today. Especially my son, he has been begging me to go for swimming several times, but I couldn't take him because he was still sick.
The things that make this place very special is because it was located side by side with a vast paddy fields. If the weather was fine and the sky was clear, we can see the montain range at the background. Really, you can easily forgot that we were still inside the city. That's why the air was cool and refreshing with echo of birds singing in the distance.
We decided to sit at one of the Joglo that overlooking the pool and paddy field. We were lucky that although it was weekend, the place is not crowded. It was almost like we got a private pool since we arrived at around 2PM. The cloudy sky was welcomed since it meant we didn't have to spend time under the scorching sun but hot enough so the dip in the pool felt like heaven.
This was also the second time my niece went to swim. The first time she was still 8 months old and still scared with water or perhaps it was too cold for her, so she cried and didn't want to play. However, she was so excited today and able to stay in the water quite long.
But my son seemed like was born to love water. Never once he afraid of water since he was a baby. And after he wanted to wear the arm floaties, he was unstoppable. He just turned three last month, and I could see that he grasped how to move in the water even though we never teach him how to swim seriously.
There were several pools available and only one was quite deep, at around 1.7 meters. My son tried the kiddy pool with the slides and bucket drop at first, where he played cheerfully with other kids. But soon, he was bored and choosed to swim at the adult pool because he liked to jump into the pool a lot. Although sometimes he got a full dip into the water, he wasn't afraid at all and surfaced with a joyful giggle always.
I was so grateful for the chance, even though the place was not big and offer simple enjoyment, but I was able to relax with my loved ones after a long week full of work. My working schedule was so crazy recently and after took the break, I just realized that I really need this. Also, I was so happy playing in the water with my little Merman. His genuine glee whenever he was wet were so contagious that lifted up our mood. My family also happy because we could had a nice reunion full of laughter and satisfied belly with a lovely view after several days confined in our house to recover. Bonus was, I also got nice photos to complete my journal.
I really recommend this place for a short family outing option or if you just want to enjoy the ambiance and the cool air. It also much more quiter on the weekdays, so doing works here is also a good idea. You can also enjoy a lovely sunset if the weather permit, since the vast sky will offers miryard colors of twillight.
