It has been a long time since I have posted anything on Pinmapple. This week I visited the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Art Centre in Mumbai. They had organized an art exhibition this week. Best Artist from all over the country came to showcase their artistry and had stalls where they could sell their work.
At the entrance we were greeted with a rose flower and the staff provided great hospitality. NMACC keeps on organising shows, events and webinars every week.
They had a grand lobby which was looked great and everything was well organized by them. One thing that was noticeable was that the team was happy to help everyone which made a great overall experience.
They had travellators everywhere which made travelling from one place to another much easier. Everyone was very excited to know more about the traditional art forms of various parts in India.
The Chandelier was the centre of attraction at the entrance what was just looking very different and elegant. It was looking very unique in its own and was attracting the visitors at the enterance.
Swadesh which was organized by Reliance Foundation offered visitors a unique experience of watching and interacting with skilled artisans in traditional artforms.
Kashmiri paper mache is a traditional handicraft which was originated in Kashmir. In this way of craft the design which is made by the artisan is about nature.
Some of the items include pots, decorative items plate and many other. All of the items were for sale and were hand painted by the artisians. NMACC provided a platform for artisans to showcase their talent.
Patola weaves is a traditional form of textile art from Patan region of Gujarat. It is a very complex way of weaving silk Sarees. In this type of craft artisans dye every thread which is very time consuming.
This craft represents the rich culture of India and the authentic Patola sarees are very high priced and are considered to be luxurious.
Just look at the vibrant colours of Potala weaves silk sarees.
Banarasi and Paithani are the other 2 famous forms of sarees that were available there.
The Banarasi one is a traditional premium saree from Varanasi(Benaras) city of India.
The Paithani Saree is a traditional Saree from Paithan Region of Maharashtra representing the tradition of Maharashtra.
There were many other Artisans who were showcasing their crafts like selling premium quality candles, home decors etc.
They had different types of scented candles, flowers, gift packs etc.
Bhavesh Bhatia the owner of sunrise candles is a visually disabled person who started his business in Mahabaleshwar, India.
Kal Baffi is a very famous hand-made carpets from the Kashmir region of India. In this form of art the carpet are woven by the weavers and it takes months to make these carpets, but it looks very luxurious and elegant once its woven. Its all about the patience that the artisans have while making these handicrafts.
Just look at beautiful Kal Baffi art carpets. It looks so attractive and beautiful. In early days the royal family had these carpets in their kingdoms.
These are the small home entrance carpets which are again made using the Kal Baffi form of art and has so many bright and it has vibrant colours to choose from.
These is the Kal Baffi form of art it's a very traditional form of art and this is how the weavers weave each thread and it takes months of patience to make one single big carpet of the Kal Baffi hand carpets.
It's a famous handicrafts found in Andhra Pradesh state of India. It's made from translucent goatskin. Traditionally it was used it puppet shows and is known for its unique design by use of vibrant colours.
I had a word with the artisan regarding how its made and got to know that it takes months and a lot of dedication to make it. He has been practising this for 25 year now and was trained by his father.
There were few lamps which looked amazing when covered with the Tholu bommalata art.
