Hello Hive!
I already shared in my first post of the year some photos from my gyrocopter ride in Moalboal. Now, I have decided to continue making posts about Moalboal and what made the place leave a mark on me. I will make it a series of posts in the next few days or weeks that will eventually lead to the diving lessons and the gyrocopter ride. I think this will be fun and it will also distract me from things in life. Anyway, have you seen my last post? If not, you can find the link below:
Before the main post, I felt like I should provide some context on how Moalboal became one of my favorite places in Cebu. I was just drawn into the place and I guess I'll be coming back there more often to dive.
Last November, I went to Moalboal together with my friends from my previous work. That was when I meet @scubahead, @discoveringarni, and @iamyohann for the first time. It was sort of a Hive meet up because I really wanted to meet them after many months of interacting with them here in Hive. I find it more awesome to know more about the person behind the blogs. I also shared in Photography Lovers community some photos about that sunset experience at @scubahead's Cebu Dive Center. I finally had the chance to witness what @scubahead witnesses every single day. As I love sunsets (I mean, who doesn't?), I know I won't get bored with it as they said that no two sunsets are the same. Anyway, you can find the link to the post below:
And now for the main post, I'll be sharing about the place where we stayed. If it was an ordinary beach resort, I would have shared directly our discovery scuba experience and just mention the resort we booked. But because I find the place unique, at least to my notion of what a beach resort would be, I decided to have a post just for this resort. From the title, I guess you already know it's Pacita's Beach Resort.
I will be sharing mostly photos of the place. There's something in my editing lately though, so forgive me if there's something off with the photos. I just didn't mind it and just get on with writing this post. Anyway, what I love about Pacita's Beach Resort is its relative sense of privacy. Unless you'll go to the beach area, you can't see a lot of people roaming around the resort. That's even though they said they're full when we were there.
Pacita's Beach Resort has no pool and I think they only have cottages, that looked like apartments, for the tourists to stay for the night. It's so affordable especially in you're travelling in groups. I mentioned about relative privacy because the cottages are properly spaced and the whole place is just covered in trees and plants. For me, it looked like a mountain resort even if Panagsama Beach is just a few steps away.
Once you're inside the resort, you wouldn't think that you're near the beach. For me, it's a fresh scene that sets it apart from the usual beach resorts in Moalboal. As a self-proclaimed plant lover, I couldn't take my eyes away from the flowers and plants in the resort.
According to some blogs I've referenced, the resort has been in business since 1979 so it's expected that they have this knack in terms of offering budget accommodation. They have been serving to faithful customers even before Moalboal became the tourist destination here in Cebu.
They have this really posh place to hang out that's surrounded by plants and flowers. I had some awesome alone time while trying to write something there, but I was lost in my thought and ended up taking photos of the plants instead.
I don't know the names of some of the plants that I photographed. I'll just share them here anyway. Comment down below if you know their common names in English or their scientific names.
I had so much fun taking photos. The place is really filled with plants and some of them are rare that they put signages not allowing people to take cuttings of the plants. The last set contains photos of alleys leading to the cottages. I also find them interesting so I decided to include them here.
I didn't include the interiors of the cottages, but they're pretty decent. I just find the whole resort more interesting because of its lay out and the decision put a lot of trees and plants really paid off. Don't worry about mosquitoes. The rooms are proofed. Just don't stay outside during the night for too long.
