My little cousins came around to spend a week at my place and you know children they will always demand for things that they want you to buy for them without bothering to know if you can provide it for them or not. Their mindset is that one's your matured then your capable of providing anything financially which also is the same mindset we had when we were kids.
I always try as much as possible to get things for them when coming back from work because you know kids they love sandwich and gifts a lot. However there is a brother of mine that is staying with me at the moment and presently he is not doing anything because he got sacked where he was working before and things looks so tough for him because of lack of money.
He came visiting to spend sometime at my place to relax for a while before he would look for other means or job. My cousins however have been disturbing him to buy things for them and whenever he told them that he is going to buy it for them that they should relax, it becomes a problem and their conclusion in their mind is that he is stingy and doesn't want to give out.
There was a particular day I came back from work and one of my cousins came to me and ask why my brother was stingy that ever since they came he has refused to buy anything for them or even give them money. This is really one hard part to proof one isn't stingy when lack of financial capability is involve and you know kids they won't be satisfied or stop disturbing till you provide something for them.
The only solution I applied was I decided to send my brother a little money to take the children out and have fun so that their mindset would change towards him. Eventually he did and they had fun and my cousins concluded that it seems my brother had money more than I do because he took them out to enjoy and had fun which I did not do for them
Kids would always be kids and we have no choice than to make them happy and provide for them. My brother and cousins became more closer than I and the reason is the comparison of what was given to them. This is was lack of finance can cause lol because if one isn't financial stable the respect given would reduce or it won't even be there at all.
