Hello my little corner of the internet! It's been a while. Today, I'm diving back into the world of K-Pop, specifically focusing on NJZ, the rebranded group formerly known as NewJeans. My last post detailed my obsession with NewJeans and the legal dispute with their former agency, ADOR (under HYBE).

A Bold New Image
In February, the ex-NewJeans members rebranded themselves as NJZ, adopting a striking Y2K aesthetic with metallic accents—a sharp contrast to NewJeans' fresh, clean image. I'm completely captivated by their new look!
Hong Kong Debut and Legal Setback
NJZ announced their Hong Kong performance at ComplexCon, where they debuted their song "PIT STOP." The title is a perfect metaphor for the situation—a pit stop represents a moment of repair and preparation before continuing the race. It perfectly encapsulates their journey.
However, in March, ADOR filed an injunction preventing the five members from engaging in independent activities without their consent. Unfortunately, the court ruled in ADOR's favor, dealing a blow to NJZ's plans. While this was a preliminary injunction, not the main lawsuit, it casts a shadow over their future.
Despite the setback, NJZ performed at ComplexCon, delivering "PIT STOP" to their fans (known as "Bunnies"). Before their debut song, each member performed a solo, singing, dancing, and interacting with the fans.
They also shared a message hinting that this might be their last performance for a while, out of respect for the court's decision.
A Heartbreaking Pause
This news left me heartbroken. I've been eagerly anticipating their comeback, and this injunction is incredibly frustrating. I desperately hope they prevail in the main lawsuit so they can continue their independent activities.
I stayed up all night to watch their ComplexCon performance live on Twitter. Seeing 1.2 million+ viewers (not including the Hong Kong audience!) was incredible, but it also highlighted the immense support NJZ has.
Fighting Misinformation
The amount of misinformation circulating on YouTube, Twitter, and especially TikTok is exhausting. Let's focus on supporting NJZ and hoping for the best. I'll keep rooting for my girls until they return to the K-Pop world with more amazing music.
