I was over my homie Fawko's house a couple weeks back for a little scratch and beer session when he showed me his newest toy, a Korg Electribe Rhythm Synthesizer.
This particular Electribe model came out in 1999 and is an analog modeling Synthesizer with the ability to do drum and synth sounds. I had messed with one of these similar models in the past, I remember finding it rather difficult to operate (but might have been a different model).
My friend was finding difficulty in saving the patterns, something I was actually unable to figure out. I guess that's what they make manuals! š. Hopefully he has since had the strength to consult a manual in the time that it's been since i came by... Because I wasn't able to save a patch.
I found it pretty easy and intuitive to operate, all things considered and I quickly had some beats and synth sounds going before I decided to whip out my phone and get a couple example videos.
These Electribe series retain a lot of love, for their ease of use. While I don't think I'll have the need for one anytime soon, it does have a variety of drum amd synth sounds that could be very useful for a variety of purposes\musical styles.
