Сьогодні на початку п’ятої ранку Туреччину та Сирію сколихнув потужний поштовх земної кори, магнітудою 7,7 балів. Вдень були ще два поштовхи – 7,8 та 5,7 балів.
Наразі відомо про загибель понад 1400 людей. Більше 5 тисяч – поранені. Від такого землетрусу багатоповерхівки складалися, як карткові будиночки. Вулиці вкрилися величезними тріщинами. Величезна хвиля на морському узбережжі країни, що утворилася через землетрус, змила готельний комплекс. У Туреччині оголошено найвищий рівень небезпеки, країна попросила міжнародної допомоги.
У Румунії теж стався землетрус, потужністю 4,6 бали. Поштовхи могли відчувати й українці, які живуть на кордоні з Румунією. Коливалася земля під ногами і в Батумі та навіть Гренландії.
Землетруси дуже важко передбачити, хоча говорять, що за три дні до сьогодні сейсмолог з Нідерландів попередив про загрозу для південно-центральної частини Туреччини та Сирії. Щоправда, точної дати він не вказав. Взагалі, ця стихіє забирає дуже багато життів. Врятуватися від неї досить складно, адже вона руйнує все на шляху.

Співчуваю всьому народові Туреччини. Від світлин, на яких видні руйнування цілих міст, волосся на голові починає рухатися. Дуже шкода всіх, хто втратив рідних у цій стихії та тих у кого не залишилося даху над головою. Ми, українці, як ніхто розуміємо жах і розпач, який спіткав турецький народ.
Знаю, що Україна не останеться осторонь чужого лиха. Влада вже повідомила про готовність відіслати на допомогу наших рятувальників. Незважаючи на війну та власні критичні проблеми, ми обов’язково подамо руку допомоги цій країні. Сподіваюся планета заспокоїлася і більше підземних поштовхів не буде.

I sympathize with all the people of Turkey. Photos showing the destruction of entire cities make the hair on one's head stand on end. I am very sorry for all those who lost their relatives in this disaster and those who have no roof over their heads. We, Ukrainians, better than anyone understand the horror and despair that befell the Turkish people.
I know that Ukraine will not remain aloof from someone else's disaster. The authorities have already announced their readiness to send our rescuers to help. Despite the war and our own critical problems, we will definitely lend a helping hand to this country. I hope the planet has calmed down and there will be no more aftershocks.
