Mothers sometimes decide to maintain greater contact with their children by practicing co-sleeping (sleeping with our children in the same bed). This method allows to maintain a greater bond between mothers and children, achieving a greater attachment between parents and children.
Hola a todos en esta comunidad. Hoy quiero hablarle de una práctica muy común en las madres y una de las primeras causas de muerte en los bebes.
Las madres a veces deciden mantener un mayor contacto con sus hijos practicando el colecho (dormir con nuestros hijos en la misma cama). Este método permite mantener un mayor vínculo entre madres e hijos, logrando un mayor apego entre padres e hijos.
How safe is the practice?
Many pediatricians have contraindicated co-sleeping because it can cause death in babies by suffocation or crushing. After a busy day, between work, housework and taking care of our baby, we end up very tired at night and we can get into a very deep sleep and that is where this type of accident can happen. So it is better to be safe than sorry, babies should sleep in their cribs.
International organizations recommend avoiding co-sleeping in babies under 6 months old, as they are not able to tell when something happens that nobody wants to happen.
¿Qué tan seguro es su práctica?
Muchos pediatras tienen contraindicado realizar el colecho debido a que puede causar muerte en los bebes por asfixia o por aplastamiento. Luego de un día ajetreado, entre el trabajo, realizar las cosas de la casa y atender a nuestro bebe, terminamos muy cansadas en las noches y podemos llegar a tener un sueño muy profundo y ahí es donde puede ocurrir este tipo de accidente. Entonces es mejor prevenir que tener que lamentar, los bebes deben dormir en sus cunas.
Organizaciones internacionales recomiendan evitar hacerlo en bebes menores de 6 meses, producto que no son capaces de avisar cuando ocurre lo que nadie quiere.
