I remember playing with rag dolls as a child and running wild on heaps of sands wherever I see one. Those were good days and I can't help but be reminded of those pleasnt times by the action of a cute little dark skinned girl.
Meet Esther, my daughter's name sake and a child to a fellow colleague at my work place. She is a cute baby when things go her way but radical when things do not, hehe. Lately, I observed that she liked to sit on the floor while watching our school students carry out the usual morning routine om the assembly ground. This started last week friday. At first it was really funny and we all had a good laugh about it but after that day, she began to want to sit in front of the students everyday. She would nod her head to the beats of th national anthem and even go as far as mimicking wht the students were saying. In her innocence, she did not know that she was a sweet distraction to the students on the assembly.
Yesterday, I tried getting her off the floor but she threw a tantrum and only stopped when I placed her down at the usual spot. It was just so funny that I had to take a picture of her on the floor like that . I was worried about her clothes getting soiled and dirty but she was unconcerned about my own concerns. I was busy thinking about her prestige as a llittle lady but she only wanted to enjoy the floor and play with sand.
I tried again to get her to stand up from the ground. This time around I lured her with the usual "let's go buy some snacks" and that seemed to do the trick. She got up and began to chase after me with her small legs. It was so beautiful to me that I had to take the pictures as she ran. Her innocent smile warmed my heart so much, reminding me of my own early motherhood journeys.
Oh how amazing it would be if I could be this carefree and with nothing to worry about.
