Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful day. I’m excited to share with you our fun and memorable experience during Nutrition Month at my Daughter Morning Belle’s daycare center. This happened yesterday, July 31,2025, and it was a mix of learning, laughter, and lots of vegetables!
You might wonder, what is Nutrition Month and why do children, especially those in daycare, celebrate it? Nutrition Month is a time when schools and daycare centers teach kids the importance of eating healthy food, especially vegetables and fruits. It helps children understand how food affects their body and helps them grow strong and smart.
We started our day early in the morning by going to our small farm to harvest vegetables. It was a peaceful and happy activity. We picked sponge gourd, string beans, tomatoes, radish, onion leaves, eggplant, bitter gourd, and some bananas that we had ripened in as sack. Morning Belle was very excited, she personally harvested the string beans and sponge gourd because they were just beside our farmhouse. It made her feel proud and involved.
After harvesting, we rode an elf truck going to her daycare center. It was a bit of a rush because we were afraid of being late. The ride was funny and chaotic, vegetables her, basket there, even cloth ad storage containers! It looked like a mini traveling market!
As soon as we arrived, Morning Belle quickly helped arrange the vegetables on the table with the help of her teacher and classmates. She was focused and happy to be part of the setup.
After arranging the vegetables, the children went inside their classroom to color drawings of fruits and vegetables. It was such a cute moment seeing them all seated and coloring happily. Only a few students came that day because most of their siblings in elementary had other school events, but the fun never stopped!
We prepared a vegetable dish with fish for the kids. Since there were only a few of the, and we cooked a lot, even the parents including me got to enjoy the food. Morning Belle was extra happy because her favorite vegetable is string beans, and she eat a lot of them. We also brought puto made by my mom, another favorite of hers and she enjoyed every bite.
The best part? Even if we were just a small group, we all went home happy, with our own share of vegetables to take home, all thanks to the teamwork of the parents, kids and teachers.
This simple celebration reminded me that Nutrition Month is not just about food, but also about teaching our kids healthy habits and the value of helping one another. As a mom, seeing Morning Belle understand and enjoy eating vegetables made me feel proud. It’s not always easy to feed kids healthy meals, but through experiences like this, they start to enjoy and appreciate them more.
Let’s continue to support our children not just in school, but also in learning life skills like healthy eating, sharing and working together. Sometimes, the simplest moments leave the biggest impact.
"Raising healthy children doesn’t start in the kitchen, it starts with setting a good example.”
Thank you for reading my story! I hope you had fun with us and got inspired, too. See you next time! 💚
