Hi everyone, especially to my fellow parents here in the @motherhood community!
I just want to share a simple but very special moment from my life as a mom, this happened just a few days ago, and even though it was a simple day, it reminded me of something important. Time really goes so fast, especially when we’re raising a child.
That day, my daughter Morning Belle woke up very early, even before I did. She was excited because we were going to attend the wedding of her God parents/ Ninang. She wears a pink dress that I bought for only 50 pesos from the ukay-ukay. Yes, as a mom, I always try to be practical and smart with our budget. You don’t need expensive things to make your child feel beautiful. And honestly, she looked like a little princess in that pink dress. She kept looking at them, while smiling from ear to ear.
We stopped by Mercury Drugstore first to buy food for Morning and alcohol, so she won’t get hungry if the program takes too long. Sometimes, she’s not in a good mood when she’s hungry.
When we arrived at the church, she didn’t want to go inside right away. She asked if we could look around first. The church as decorated beautifully and she was enjoying everything, the flowers, lights and even the sounds of people getting ready.
She wanted to take a picture with the bridal car, and when she posed beside it, I looked at her and felt something inside me. She looked so grown up. It hit me right there that my little girl is not so baby anymore. She’s growing, learning and slowly becoming her own person. I remember when she was just a baby in my arms, and now she’s here. Walking beside me in a pretty pink dress, excited about the world.
Inside the church, she behaved well. She sat quietly, listened and smiled when her ninang walked down the aisle. After the ceremony, we went to the wedding reception, and Morning Belle became even more active. When the music started, she walked to the front to watch her ninang dance. She was clapping and cheering like a proud little guest. She wasn’t shy at all; she enjoyed every moment.
I watched her from behind and smiled. I was so proud not just because she looked pretty or behaved well but because I saw her enjoying life, being present and spreading joy to others.
After everything, when we got home, she was so tired. As I was helping her change clothes, she hugged me and saying “I’m happy mama, Thank you.’ That short sentence was enough to fill my heart.
Motherhood is full of small moments like this. They may seem simple, but they mean so much. Sometimes we get tired, sometimes we feel like we’re not doing enough- but when our child smiles or say thank you it reminds us that we’re doing okay.
Thank you for reading my story. These are my own pictures and I edited them in Canva to keep this memory close to my heart. ❤️
I hope this little moments reminds you to enjoy every second with your child because they grow up so fast.
