Porque seguidamente de su cierre de proyecto otro evento nos esperaba y ese igual de estresante, Mi hijo iba a ascender a cinta celeste.
Mi Sebas inicio en el karate para el 2023, sin embargo, el trato poco respetuoso, según mi criterio y el de Sebas propio, decidimos ponerle fin a esa etapa. Luego en el 2024 y gracias a Casita Azul, que es una organización para niños TEA (Trastorno del Espectro Autista), incluyo entre sus actividades el Karate con fines terapéuticos.
Because right after his project ended, another event awaited us, and it was just as stressful. My son was going to be promoted to the blue belt.
My son Sebas started karate in 2023, but due to what I and Sebas considered to be disrespectful treatment, we decided to end that phase. Then in 2024, thanks to Casita Azul, an organization for children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), which includes karate for therapeutic purposes among its activities.
Practicamos unos meses, para ese entonces ya el Sensei, su profesor de karate, había seleccionado a un grupo de niños con potencial para practicar un poco más deportivo y quizás con miras a competencias, entre esos niños mi hijo y así fue como mi hijo asistió a una exhibición en los juegos paraestadales en abril 2024 en Barcelona estado Anzoátegui, pero después de las vacaciones escolares de ese mismo año, no volvimos, hasta mayo de este año 2025 después de que mi hijo me insistiera en que quería volver, fue así como mi Sebas, retomo las clases, y mejoro en los movimientos y el kata que ya había aprendido. Pero esta vez ya estábamos en el dojo del Sensei.
We practiced for a few months, and by then, Sensei, his karate teacher, had selected a group of children with the potential to practice a little more athletically and perhaps with a view to competitions. My son was among those children, and that is how he attended an exhibition at the state games in April 2024 in Barcelona, Anzoátegui state. However, after the school holidays that same year, we did not return until May of this year, 2025, after my son insisted that he wanted to go back. That is how my son Sebas resumed classes and improved on the movements and kata he had already learned. But this time we were at Sensei's dojo.
Ya por sus clases anteriores mi hijo ya estaba preparado para su ascenso, yo no lo creía tanto, pero el Sensei, en junio, me explico que sí, ya él estaba listo para avanzar, y allí comenzó la cuenta regresiva. Siempre he pensado que la idea es avanzar, él se veía animado y le gusta, estaba preparado y es además motivador para el niño, vivir ese avance.
Thanks to his previous classes, my son was ready for his promotion. I didn't believe it so much, but in June, Sensei explained to me that yes, he was ready to move forward, and that's when the countdown began. I've always thought that the idea is to move forward. He seemed excited and enjoyed it. He was ready, and it's also motivating for the child to experience that progress.
La fecha del ascenso el 12 de julio de 2025, y yo ya estaba estresada, todo deporte requiere no solo inversión de tiempo y energía, sino además de dinero, todos requieren uniformes, pagos de mensualidades, costes de ascenso. El grupo de mamas azules, nos organizamos y realizamos una rifa para algunos costos y así, pude afiliar a mi hijo a la federación, comprar el logo y abonar para su cinta celeste, luego el estrés creció con el examen de ascenso que tiene su costo, pero gracias a Dios, pude solventar, con un dinero guardado, un trabajo que me salió y al apoyo moral y económico para solventar otras cosas de mi pareja, pude solventar.
The promotion date was July 12, 2025, and I was already stressed. All sports require not only an investment of time and energy, but also money. They all require uniforms, monthly payments, and promotion costs. The group of blue moms got organized and held a raffle to cover some of the costs, and so I was able to enroll my son in the federation, buy the logo, and pay for his light blue ribbon. Then the stress grew with the promotion exam, which also has a cost, but thank God, I was able to pay for it with money I had saved, a job I got, and the moral and financial support of my partner to pay for other things.
Y llego el día del ascenso….
Desde las 8:40 am estábamos en el sitio del ascenso el Museo de gas y petróleo de mi localidad, allí estaban dos escuelas de karate. era seminario y ascenso, así que el seminario comenzó a las 9:30 am aproximadamente y a las 12 del mediodía, el examen...
Yo estaba más nerviosa, parecía que era yo la que iba a presentar ese examen, cuando llego el momento del ascenso empecé a temblar y esa sensación en la boca del estómago. Cosas de mamá, mi hijo estaba tranquilo, aunque no me acerque a él, yo lo sé, mi hijo no se pone nervioso cuando expone, el estaba seguro de lo que sabia y tenía que hacer...
And the day of the promotion arrived...

I was more nervous than he was. It seemed like I was the one taking the exam. When the moment of the promotion arrived, I started to shake and felt that sensation in the pit of my stomach. Moms are like that. My son was calm. Even though I didn't go near him, I know that my son doesn't get nervous when he performs. He was sure of what he knew and what he had to do...
El junto a otros niños realizo su demostración de conocimiento del kata, realmente lo hicieron hermoso, sin errores, mi hijo aun le falta flexionar más, pero solo en el caso de ellos evaluaron conocimiento, al finalizar, un hermoso aplauso dio fin a su presentación y a mi nerviosismo... Mientras ejecutaba sus movimientos me envolvía además el orgullo de verlo ejecutando su kata, seguro y confiado. Me encanto.
He and the other children demonstrated their knowledge of kata. They did it beautifully, without any mistakes. My son still needs to bend more, but they were only evaluating their knowledge. At the end, a round of applause brought their presentation and my nervousness to a close... As he performed his movements, I was also filled with pride at seeing him perform his kata with confidence and assurance. I loved it.
Luego vino la entrega de su cinta nueva, también muy emotivo para mi y por supuesto para él. Sebas estaba feliz y emocionado. Fue una hermosa experiencia, la primera de muchas que nos vienen.
Todos los papas sabemos la emoción que se siente cuando nuestros hijos logran un objetivo y también porque nos esforzamos para lograrlos con ellos, invirtiendo tiempo, dinero, limitándose a unas cosas o dejándolo para después, no solo es la meta del niño, sino la de mama y papa también.
Then came the presentation of his new belt, which was also very emotional for me and, of course, for him. Sebas was happy and excited. It was a beautiful experience, the first of many to come.
All parents know the excitement we feel when our children achieve a goal, and also because we strive to achieve them with them, investing time, money, limiting ourselves to certain things or putting them off until later. It is not only the child's goal, but also mom and dad's.
