"Chico listo..." Así es como le llaman a Joaquín sus terapeutas y en la maestra.
Aún seguimos trabajando su conducta, pero los avances son geniales. Joaquín tiene la capacidad de imitar y esto le permite aprender rápido, así que sabe desenvolverse en casa actividad que le corresponde hacer. En ocasiones la parte conductual le impide hacer sus actividades al 100% bien, pero la mayor parte del tiempo las realiza de manera correcta.
Algo que afectó la parte social de Joaquín, en nuestro caso, fue la pandemia, él nació en pleno 2020, cuando el COVID estaba en su punto más alto de mortalidad. Esto hizo que sus primeros meses de vida fueran en un entorno de encierro, al punto de que cuando ya podíamos recibir visitas él lloraba al ver a otras personas y por lo general no saludaba a nadie, ya que era un hábito que no tenía por costumbre.
Hoy en día, Joaquín saluda hasta el de la tienda, al señor que barre en la calle y reconoce fácilmente animales, como los gatos, perros y palomas que ve camino a la escuela. Saluda a su maestra, se despide de sus compañeros y además ya interactúa como todo niño de su edad, con otras personas. Así que este es un gran avance.

We are still working on his behavior, but the progress is great. Joaquin has the ability to imitate and this allows him to learn quickly, so he knows how to perform the activity he is supposed to do at home. Sometimes the behavioral part prevents him from doing his activities 100% well, but most of the time he does them correctly.
Something that affected Joaquin's social part, in our case, was the pandemic, he was born in the middle of 2020, when COVID was at its highest point of mortality. This meant that his first months of life were in a closed environment, to the point that when we were able to receive visitors he cried when he saw other people and generally did not greet anyone, as it was a habit he was not used to.
Today, Joaquín greets even the man in the store, the man who sweeps the street and easily recognizes animals, such as the cats, dogs and pigeons he sees on his way to school. He greets his teacher, says goodbye to his classmates and interacts with other people like any other child his age. So this is a big step forward.
Seguro te has preguntado si Joaquín tiene algun diagnóstico y la respuesta es no. En la clínica donde está nos han dicho que quizás pueda tener Autismo leve o solo sea TDAH (déficit de atención con hiperactividad), pero si ves a Joaquín, es un niño en todo su esplendor, independiente, alegre, juguetón, con la diferencia de que cuando no quiere algo, no lo hace y punto. Así que hasta no tener un diagnóstico y él esté más grande, no podemos hablar de alguna condición que quizás no posea.
Nuestro trabajo como padres es motivarlos, enseñarlo y llevarlo a las terapias necesarias para que su desarrollo continué de acuerdo a su edad.
I'm sure you have wondered if Joaquin has any diagnosis and the answer is no. At the clinic where he is, they have told us that he might have mild Autism or just ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), but if you see Joaquin, he is a child in all his splendor, independent, happy, playful, with the difference that when he doesn't want something, he doesn't do it and that's it. So until we have a diagnosis and he is older, we cannot talk about a condition that he may not have.
Our job as parents is to motivate him, teach him and take him to the necessary therapies so that his development continues according to his age.
