Yesterday we celebrated Father's Day as a family, and to tell the truth this was very different from other Father's Days, at first I spent more time sharing with Mathias than with my father, since we had pending activities for school, today was the presentation of his life project and although we had already been talking about it, we still had to translate his presentation into something that would allow him to explain to his teachers and classmates what his life expectations are for when he is an adult. This first life project for my little boy's school, led me to think many things, the first thing that came to my mind is that in my time this was not used, although I always had my thoughts about what I wanted to be when I grew up, in the end I ended up being something very different from what I thought as a child.

Whenever I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I always said I would be a doctor like my godmother, firstly because I saw her practicing her profession with so much love and secondly because I spent a lot of time among doctors and hospitals when I was only 5 years old, which is the age that my Mathias is now, so I think that seeing how they did their work made me feel good with the idea of being like them, The thing changed when I got to high school and in my first biology lab practice when I had to cut a cow brain to examine under the microscope, I did not have the courage to even touch that brain, so there came my dreams of being a doctor, after this let's say I was in a limbo of not knowing what would become of me, even a year before finishing my high school when I had to choose the options to opt for universities I remember I wanted to study fashion design and psychology, nothing to do with what I ended up studying in the end.

My experience with my lack of guidance for what it would be like to grow up, and to see this new way of instilling from an early age the guidance for our little ones to plan for what their life will be in the future, makes me think that it is something really positive, that can help us to explore and exploit the strengths as well as strengthen the weaknesses of my little ones, besides helping them to dream of something perfectly achievable, because it is important to accompany them at all times so that they feel supported, it does not hurt that in my case I did not have it, however, my parents did not have any of the tools that I have today.

When Mathias and I started to talk about his life project, and I asked him the corresponding questions, Who is he? What does he want to be when he grows up? and What does he have to do to achieve it? He went from wanting to have a wife, kids and a job to support his family, to wanting to be a great chef, to end up wanting to be an engineer like his uncles and mom, I thought at first, he can easily be these three things, he just needs to have priorities and help him organize his ideas. My little boy loves to disassemble and assemble toys, he can't see my dad doing any mechanical, electrical, electronic or even construction repairs, so, he easily has the wood to be a great engineer, so we focused on this to form what would be his life project, without leaving aside the other dreams he has, which I happen to think that wanting to start a family is part of everyone's dream at some point, although my baby is too young to think about it yet (mother's jealousy activated).

It is important as I already mentioned, to recognize the weaknesses and strengths of our children, and in this way help them to grow, make those weaknesses new strengths, and above all accompany them at all times, support is important, if my little boy wants to be an engineer here he has a proud mother who will support him and try to make his way to that goal easier, or if on the contrary he really wants to study to be a chef, doctor, fireman, astronaut, here I will be just as proud of him helping and supporting him in whatever is necessary for him to achieve it. We are days away from the end of his school year and his promotion to first grade, this is just the beginning of the adventure, the road is long and not hard, but it is certainly not easy, it is a long road for him and also for me, but here we go with the best attitude.

Ayer celebramos el día del padre en familia, y a decir verdad este fue muy distinto a otros días del padre, en principio me dedique más a compartir con Mathias que con mi padre, ya que teníamos actividades pendientes para el colegio, hoy tocaba la presentación de su proyecto de vida y aunque ya veníamos conversando sobre el tema, aun nos quedaba plasmar su presentación en algo que le permitiera explicarle a sus maestras y compañeritos de clases cuáles son sus expectativas de vida para cuando él sea un adulto. Este primer proyecto de vida para el colegio de mi pequeño, me llevo a pensar muchas cosas, lo primero que se vino a mi mente es que en mis tiempos no se usaba esto, aunque siempre tenía mis pensamientos sobre lo que quería ser cuando creciera, al final termine siendo algo muy diferente a lo que pensaba de pequeña.

Siempre que me preguntaban que quería ser cuando creciera decía que sería doctora como mi madrina, en principio porque la veía a ella ejerciendo su profesión con tanto amor y en segunda instancia porque pase mucho tiempo entre doctores y hospitales cuando apenas tenía 5 años, que es la edad que tiene Mi Mathias actualmente, así que creo que al ver como hacían su trabajo me sentía bien con esa idea de ser como ellos, la cosa cambio cuando llegue al bachillerato y en mi primera practica de laboratorio de biología al tener que cortar un cerebro de vaca para examinar en el microscopio, no tuve el valor para tan siquiera tocar ese cerebro, así que hasta allí llegaron mis sueños de ser doctora, luego de esto digamos que quede en un limbo de no saber que sería de mí, incluso un año antes de finalizar mi bachillerato cuando tenía que elegir las opciones para optar a universidades recuerdo que quería estudiar diseño de modas y psicología, nada que ver con lo que termine estudiando al final.

Mi experiencia con mi falta de orientación para lo que sería al crecer, y ver esta nueva manera de ir inculcando desde pequeños la orientación para que nuestros pequeños vayan haciéndose una planificación para lo que será su vida en un futuro, me hace pensar que es algo verdaderamente positivo, que puede ayudarnos a explorar y explotar las fortalezas al igual que fortalecer las debilidades de mis pequeños, además de ayudarlos a soñar con algo perfectamente realizable, pues es importante el acompañamiento en todo momento para que se sientan apoyados, no dure que en mi caso no lo tuve, sin embargo, mis padres no tenían ninguna de las herramientas con las que cuento en la actualidad.

Cuando Mathias y yo comenzamos a conversar acerca de su proyecto de vida, y le hacia las preguntas correspondientes, ¿Quién es? ¿Qué quiere ser cuando crezca? y ¿Que debe hacer para lograrlo? Paso de querer tener esposa, hijos y un trabajo para mantener a su familia, por querer ser un gran chef a terminar queriendo ser ingeniero como sus tíos y su mamá, pensé en un principio, puede fácilmente ser estas tres cosas, solo necesita tener prioridades y ayudarlo a organizar sus ideas. Mi pequeño ama desarmar y armar juguetes, no puede ver a mi padre haciendo alguna reparación mecánica, eléctrica, electrónica o incluso de construcción, así que, fácilmente tiene madera para ser un gran ingeniero, así que nos enfocamos en esto para formar lo que sería su proyecto de vida, sin dejar de lado los otros sueños que tiene, que paso a pensar que el hecho de querer formar una familia es parte del sueño de todos en algún momento, aunque mi bebe está muy pequeño para pensar en ello aun (celos de madre activados).

Es importante como ya lo comente, reconocer las debilidades y fortalezas de nuestros pequeños, y de esta manera ayudarlos a crecer, hacer de esas debilidades nuevas fortalezas, y sobre todo acompañarlos en todo momento, el apoyo es importante, si mi pequeño quiere ser ingeniero aquí tiene una madre orgullosa que lo apoyara y tratara de hacer su camino hacia esa meta más fácil, o si por el contrario quiere realmente estudiar para ser chef, medico, bombero, astronauta, aquí estaré yo igual de orgullosa de él ayudando y apoyando en lo que sea necesario para que lo logre. Estamos a días de culminar su año escolar y posterior promoción hacia primer grado, esto es apenas el comienzo de la aventura, el camino es largo y no dure que difícil, pero ciertamente no es del todo fácil, es un camino largo para él y también para mí, pero allá vamos con la mejor actitud.
