It has been more than a year and a half since we began to live the tragedy of the pandemic, confinement that changed the plans of many, and certainly I was no exception, in early 2020 I had talked to a friend of my mother who teaches at the preschool in my neighborhood, and suggested me at the time that although my Mathias was not yet of school age, Even though I didn't want to leave my baby, I agreed. My surprise was that the week I had planned to take Mathias to school for the first time, a quarantine began, from which we still haven't come out definitively, and to tell the truth, I don't think we will come out yet. The past school year was spent with distance learning, and occasional class assisted by his preschool teacher, but nothing close to what it is like to receive classes in a normal way.

This year by decree was assigned the start of classes for yesterday October 25, the new school Mathias began its activities as had already been agreed in some assemblies of representatives and teachers, under biosecurity measures, and in small groups of students, to avoid crowds. I was so excited to see my babywearing the uniform that many years ago my brother and I wore, I think every mother feels that way when their children begin a new stage, I must say that I dreamed of seeing him in those rows, to pray and sing the national anthem as I did throughout my childhood.

I tell you that they let me hide to see my baby from afar and I took the opportunity to take these photographs of poor quality, but no doubt I will keep them with the greatest love, and I must confess that while I saw him from afar and remembered a little of what was my childhood in this school, tears welled up in my eyes, it was almost impossible to stop them, and there was my little giant heading to the beginning of a new adventure. Just two and a half hours of classes, little time, to tell the truth, but for my little one it was undoubtedly a great experience.

Yesterday was besides a very happy day for the beginning of the new stage for my little one, a day with a lot of pain because I had to go to the dentist to extract two molars that were giving me problems for a while, so after going to pick up my little one to school I left him at home and went to the torture that left me resting for the rest of the day yesterday, which coincidentally was celebrated the world day of Karate, so my brother helped me taking my little one to his class, I could not miss on such a special day.

Being a mother is not easy, being a single mother much less, but if there is one thing I am sure of, it is that the satisfaction generated by each achievement of our children, is worth all the efforts we can make to help reach them. All those that we find in our way and help us in this great work are simply blessings that life gives us, and that is why I am thankful every day for having the best family I could have had. Ya han pasado más de año y medio desde que comenzamos a vivir la tragedia de la pandemia, un confinamiento que le cambio los planes a muchos, y que sin duda yo no fui la excepción, a principios de 2020 había conversado con una amiga de mi madre que imparte clases en el preescolar de mi barrio, y me sugirió en su momento que si bien Mi Mathias no estaba aún en edad escolar, podía asistir a sus clases de manera que ella lo iría orientando para cuando le tocara comenzar le fuera más fácil, yo aun cuando no quería despegarme de mi bebe, accedí, mi sorpresa fue que la semana en que tenía pensado llevar a Mathias por primera vez a la escuela comenzó una cuarentena de la que aún no hemos salido de manera definitiva, y que a decir verdad no creo que salgamos aun. El pasado año escolar lo vivimos con clases a distancia, una que otra clase asistida por su maestra de preescolar, pero nada cercano a lo que es recibir clases de manera normal.

Este año por decreto se asignó el inicio de clases para el día de ayer 25 de octubre, el nuevo colegio de Mathias inicio sus actividades tal como ya se había acordado en algunas asambleas de representantes y maestros, bajo las medidas de bioseguridad y en grupos pequeños de alumnos, para evitar las aglomeraciones. Me hacía tanta ilusión ver a mi bebe lucir el uniforme que muchísimos años atrás lucimos mi hermano y yo, en fin creo que toda madre siente eso cuando sus hijos comienzan una nueva etapa, debo decir que soñaba con verlo formarse en esas filas, para orar y entonar el himno nacional tal como lo hice yo en toda mi niñez.

Les cuento que me dejaron pasar escondidita para ver a mi bebe desde lejos y aproveche de tomar estas fotografías de mala calidad, pero que sin duda las conservare con el amor más grande, y debo confesar que mientras lo veía a lo lejos y recordaba un poco lo que fue mi infancia en este colegio, las lágrimas brotaban de mis ojos, frenarlas era casi imposible, y es que allí estaba mi pequeño gigante rumbo al inicio de una nueva aventura. Apenas dos horas y media de clases, poco tiempo, a decir verdad, pero para mi pequeño fue sin duda una experiencia genial.

Ayer fue además de un día muy feliz por el comienzo de la nueva etapa para mi pequeño, un día con mucho dolor pues me toco ir a odontólogo para extraer dos muelas que me estaban dando problemas desde hace rato, por lo que luego de ir a buscar a mi pequeño a la escuela lo deje en casa y fui a la tortura que me dejo de reposo durante el resto del día de ayer, que casualmente se celebraba el día mundial del Karate, por lo que mi hermano me ayudo llevando a mi pequeño a su clase, no podía faltar en un día tan especial.

Ser madre no es fácil, ser madre soltera mucho menos, pero si de algo estoy segura, es de que la satisfacción que nos genera cada logro de nuestros hijos, vale todos los esfuerzos que podamos hacer por ayudar a que ellos los alcancen. Todos aquellos que encontramos en nuestro camino y nos ayudan en esta gran labor son simplemente bendiciones que la vida nos regala, y es por ello que a diario agradezco por contar con la mejor familia que pude haber tenido.
