Example of the activity to be carried out, given by the teacher.

Although Alison is in the pre-kindergarten stage, where we usually do a lot of activities, I've never had the chance to make something at home, it was my first time!
As parents we know that there are certain activities that we have to participate in with our children, this was one of them. Just last Friday Alison's teacher told us through the WhatsApp group about the activity to be done on Monday, since they were dealing with the theme of the parts of the body.
I must admit that I felt nervous because I'm not very good at crafts, but even so I had to take on the challenge of making this figure that was like a puzzle made with recyclable materials. The idea of the activity was that Alison could put it together in class and mention each part: head, trunk and extremities (arms and legs).
To make these figures I used a cardboard box, plastic lids, a marker and silicone. I didn't use measurements or patterns, just the reference that the teacher sent us, I simply made the parts freehand (I made a lot of them before I found the ones that were selected), it took me a while, especially the part of the arms and hands (as you can see hahaha).
In the process I used what I had at hand, in fact to melt the silicone I did it in the most homemade way possible with a lighter. With respect to the lids I always have a reserve in recycling and I was delighted to be able to use them for this. The part of the holes where the lids should fit perfectly gave me a lot of work, until I understood that folding them in half was the best strategy so that when trimming it would look good.
At the end of the day everything went well, Alison was always by my side saying "is my homework ready mommy? It was a matter of putting the pieces together and I was very happy with the result. The litmus test was for Alison to recognize each part because as you can see it is not the most perfect thing you have ever seen, luckily she understood everything and I was happy.
In fact she woke up very early on Monday and asked me to take a picture of her homework before getting ready to go to the garden hahaha. My biggest reward was seeing her excitement when she had it in her hands.
A little anecdote was that the mother of one of Alison's classmates asked me how long it had taken me to do it, I told her that it took me all Saturday afternoon and that I was happy with the result. To which she replied that she had done it on Sunday in a few minutes while she was having lunch. (There is no shortage of this type of comments that would be so good to keep to themselves...).
Anyway, I was happy with my accomplishment and Alison with her task perfectly accomplished, that was more than enough.

¡Feliz miércoles gente linda de @liketu y @motherhood!
Aunque Alison está en la etapa de pre-jardín, donde generalmente se hacen muchas actividades nunca me había tocado elaborar algo en casa, ¡era mi primera vez!.
Como padres sabemos que hay ciertas actividades en las que tenemos que participar con nuestros hijos, esta era una de ellas. Justo el viernes pasado la profesora de Alison nos avisó a través del grupo de WhatsApp sobre la actividad que había que realizar para el día lunes, ya que estaban tratando el tema de las partes del cuerpo.
Debo admitir que me sentí nerviosa porque no soy muy buena con eso de las manualidades, pero aun así como quien dice me tocó asumir el reto de ir elaborando esta figura que era estilo rompecabezas hecho con materiales reciclables. La idea de la actividad era que Alison pudiera armarlo en clase y mencionar cada parte: cabeza, tronco y extremidades (brazos y piernas).
Para la elaboración de estas figuras utilicé una caja de cartón, tapas plásticas, un marcador y silicona. No utilice medidas ni patrones, sólo la referencia que nos envió la profesora, simplemente fui elaborando las partes a mano alzada (hice muchísimas antes de dar con las que quedaron seleccionadas), me costó un poco sobre todo la parte de los brazos y manos (como se puede notar jajaja).
En el proceso utilicé lo que tenía a la mano, de hecho para derretir la silicona lo hice de la forma más casera posible con un encendedor. Con respecto a las tapas siempre tengo una reserva en el reciclaje y me encantó poder utilizarlas para esto. La parte de los hoyos donde debían entrar perfectamente las tapas me dio mucho trabajo, hasta que entendí que doblarlos a la mitad era la mejor estrategia para que al recortar quedara bien.
Al final del día todo salió bien, Alison siempre estuvo a mi lado atenta diciendo "¿ya está lista mi tarea mami?". Era cuestión de unir las partes y la verdad quedé muy feliz con el resultado. La prueba de fuego era que Alison reconociera cada parte ya que como ven no es lo más perfecto que han visto, por suerte entendió todo y yo estaba feliz.
De hecho despertó muy temprano el lunes y me pidió que le tomara una foto con su tarea antes de alistarse para ir al jardín jajaja. Mi mayor recompensa fue ver su emoción al tenerla en las manos.
Una pequeña anécdota fue que la mamá de una compañera de Alison al ver su actividad me preguntó que cuánto tiempo me había tardado en hacerlo, yo le dije que toda la tarde del sábado y que estaba feliz con el resultado. A lo que me respondió que ella lo había hecho el domingo en unos pocos minutos mientras almorzaba. (No faltan este tipo de comentarios que sería tan bueno que se guardaran para ellos…)
En fin, yo quedé feliz con mi logro y Alison con su tarea perfectamente cumplida, eso fue más que suficiente.
