Hello to all mushroom and fungus lovers, I am here again to share my experiences with the community, I hope you like it and enjoy it as much as I do when taking the photographs, and when setting up this publication.
On this first occasion I want to share some images of a very interesting and visually striking mushroom due to its shape and color, as well as its peculiar growth in clusters. The mushroom in question is called Hypholoma fasciculare and belongs to the Strophariaceae family.
It is commonly known as summer mushroom, forest mushroom or blight mushroom, it is a fast-growing fungus that is commonly found in coniferous and mixed forests, such as those found in northern Spain.
Its cap is olive green to brown in color, it is convex and flat, and can measure up to 12 cm. Its stem is cylindrical and fibrous, with a diameter of up to 2 cm and a height of up to 10 cm.
It is an edible mushroom, but it must be cooked before being consumed. It is not recommended to eat it raw like other mushrooms since it can cause stomach problems. Here it is usually used to prepare sauces, stews, pastas and soups.
Like most mushrooms and fungi, it also has some medicinal properties, among them it has a hypoglycemic effect, which means that it can help reduce blood sugar levels.
Last but not least, keep in mind that you should not collect mushrooms if you do not have adequate knowledge about their identification, since there are some poisonous species that look very similar to others and can be dangerous if ingested.
